Just like with Kobayashi at Turkey, it's "Quick Nick's" time to do a "Webber" and get up the grid as much as possible. Where do you think he will finish? No points, Points, Podium or a DNF?
He is going to be something to watch tomorrow hahaha If I was him I would start on the hards and get that slow phase out of the way to start with the fuel saving phase. then have 3 super agressive stints on fresh softs no fuel saving and in clean air probably with people pitting out of the way.
Sea-man, Ah, the classic Webber strategy; yes, that's what I think he should do too. I think he can scrape into the points but he won't do a 'full Webber'.
His strategy could be interesting, especially with the hards being so much slower. With so many sets of softs left, he has by far the most freedom. I could see him starting on the softs, because otherwise the disadvantage will make it harder to progress through the pack when everyone is bunched together. Passing as many as he could in his first stint could get him up to many 14th or so. Then I could see him doing a stint on the hards early on to get them out of the way, before going through the remainder of his soft tyres to finish strongly. With a decent first few laps, keeping his nose clean and a couple of retirements, I could see him comfortably in the points.
The main problem Nick Heidfeld faces is the pace of other cars. His Renault is the 5th fastest car and isnt much better in the race. Should he get into the top 10, I cant see him progressing much further than that. Also, drivers like Kobayashi and Buemi wont be easy to pass and Nick needs to hope his car has the pace to make his stategy work. I see him finishing 11th or 12th but would like him to finish in the points.
I'm going to guess at a DNF. Not sure why, I just have a feeling. Carno, is there any chance of making that gratuitous sig a bit smaller?
i would say nick is looking at 9th-12th given the pace of his car and how many other drivers he will need to pass. If your pushing for a specific position: 10th
I'd like to see him on fire but only figuratively speaking. I just have a niggling feeling that we might not get another Webber or Kobayashi kind of drive today. Good luck to him, though.
No, not really, I don't know how many pitstops the two renaults have had, but they're together on the road. EDIT: Actually, he's just made two places, not looking too bad now.
