I feel so sad for Cardiff City supporters today. I simply cannot believe the club is changing its colours to red!! Since I first started following football in the sixties, I have always known Cardiff as The Bluebirds. My bedroom wall was plastered with pictures of all clubs, and City stood their proud in their blue shirts. My Shoot league ladders were stuck behind my bedroom door, and Cardiff had their familiar blue tab in it.

Now City are going red. WTF!! Over one hundred years of tradition and history simply ignored by the new owner? This is just wrong, and changing the badge as well!! It makes me very angry that someone can come in and change the image of a club with a proud history just like that. What next? Is he going to move City to London? Disgraceful!!

Football in England is being ruined by the Sky monies, and all sorts of egomaniacs are being attracted to buy into clubs. It is sad to see clubs and supporters selling their souls in desperation for success. I know Man City fans who bitched like hell when Chelsea got Abramovich, and they said it was obscene and disgusting how Chelsea could "buy" success. Funny how they have nothing to say now.

I don't know how Cardiff fans will react to this, although initial feedback I've had is that this red shirt is not welcome. When Tan finally ****s off from Cardiff, will you change back to blue? Probably make your new owner instantly popular!!

Good luck for the future, wonder what Tan is going to do next now that he's made this massive change?

Umm, you do know that Leeds were Blue/Yellow until 1961 then changed to white?

I think you'll find we still have blue and yellow on the home kits and changed our home kit regularly from our foundation until the all white was introduced, blue and white stripes, blue with gold, blue and gold halves, gold with blue sleeves, white with blue and yellow isn't that much of a change is it? We certainly didn't have over 100 yers of history in any kit and even with the 50 we have in white I'd like to see the reaction if someone tried to change it.

Fair enough, but it's become apparent that this is necessary for our club to continue being in existence.

Anyway in 300 years time who's to say that we wont still be around and playing in red, black, pink, yellow, or whatever? 100 years at some point will become a small amount of time.

With your chairman you have more to worry about than Cardiff City, we'll do fine thank you.

Well our chairman seems to be selling up so we're hanging in there.

I don't get why no-one's questioning why you need to change your kit and badge to receive this investment, just seems like an ego trip by the owners.

I know why they're saying they want it changed, what I'm getting at is why they think they need to do this to be able to give you £100m. This might give you some more attention in the far east but what would really do that is getting into the PL, and I'm pretty sure with £100m at your disposal you could do that in blue!

your missing the point of the red and the dragon in the far east is something special and that money will come in through branding and media which our owners are main players in......simples its a money game and we all know that money gets you what you want in football these days>>>>.prem football can now be a reality cos these boys will want this club in the top flight(they need 2) and want they want they may very well get.

so all in all it seems us fans are on the boat for a ride........lets hope the captain`s got a steady guiding hand2 take us on and us fans shall provide the fire and passion needed in stormy waters <ale>

Man City are a club that are equally at home wearing either sky blue or red & black stripes. I can see a time when we are viewed in the same light - red at home & blue away. One thing's for sure - £1m a month losses are unsustainable, so something positive HAD to be done.

Cardiff City are living on a "promise" of £100m investment, but frankly I don't see that happening. Tan is gambling on City getting to the Prem, and I believe if it doesn't happen this coming season he will try and sell, but unless your debt is cleared there will be no takers. He came into Cardiff to try and buy a club on the cheap, he still hasn't settled your debts and all he is doing is trying to get to the Prem so he doesn't have to spend any of his own cash, and then sell the club and picket millions. My OP was not having a go at City fans, but having a go at yet another foreign owner with no clue. I really believe Cardiff are on the brink of being the next Pompey as I don't trust Tan one bit.

thanks for your concern billy but we aint the only club who got owners from over seas.......take a look closer 2 home mr bates isnt a shrinking violet when it comes 2 earning of the highest bidder, and from what i can see mr bates aint racist in anyway.

if it goes tits up it goes tits up there aint nowt we can do about it as fans without mega bucks backing us up for a take over <ok>

rubber...I'm on your page mate. We are feeling the pain while Bates milks our club, I am just outraged that your owner feels he can do as he pleases. Bloody awful!! If he first gave Malky £50m to spend and then changed the kit, well maybe. But I don't buy his promise of £100m investment in a Championship club he already owns.

    Billys Statue.

I agree with a lot of what you say.

However you dont fully understand our financial position if you think we are about to become the next Portsmouth.

VT has paid HMRC , also other creditors such as football clubs are paid up.

Virtually all our debt is to shareholders in the club.

If they want their money back we need and they need PL football.

If say £10m was owed to HMRC then id be worried about being the next Portsmouth.

I dont think the colour change was necessary. I give it 2 seasons. Shirt sales will be low.

There was a poll by the supporters club and the result was a big vote for change.

The poll was only in favour because of the thought of no investment.

I dont like the way this has come about. However im not that bothered either.

I tell you what - there will be a lot of red shirts for sale at the end of next season.

My 9 year old is already moaning that ive told him hes not having the red shirt though.<doh>
