Right I know it's hard to say before signings and alot will depend on Europa but where do people think we will finish in the league this season? We have improved on our league position every year since Liebherr takeover and that's a record that will be damn hard to keep going next year So let's stick our necks out, where we will finish in the PL next season? I will allow 2 predictions to take into account whether we qualify for the group stages of EL or not. We fail to qualify for group stage - 7th again. We reach the group stages (and beyond?) - 10th/11th. Over to you!
All fun and games so think, with current level of transfer progress: Without europa group - 6th With europa group - 9th/10th
About the same again as long as we increase the size and quality of our squad We have reached our ceiling and maximum potential as we will loose our better players every summer, we just have to cream the big money clubs every time
So, who will get our vacated Champions League spot earned from winning the Europa League if we finish top 4 in the Prem?
The level of impact will be debateable. And I predict we will have bloody good debate about it on this very forum.
10th. Transitional season. Hopefully we'll blood a few youngsters. Swansea will exceed expectations next season.
Last season was far more of a transitional season than next season will be..I expect Jay and Sadio to be ripping up defences next season and Graziano CANNOT be as unlucky as he was last season with hitting the woodwork. I expect us to be more freescoring with hopefully a few more goals coming from midfield too. A top six finish is definately on the cards and a decent cup run or two would be great.
I'm still trying to not expect too much of Jay, I can't think of a single player who's pace was one of their biggest assets who came back from that injury, hope I'm wrong though. One question to "top 6 finish definitely on the cards" What would you consider disappointing ?
I think we'll better last season or equal it. For starters, it wouldn't surprise me if don't do that well in the Europa, so that could be out of the way soon enough. Then we'll have the better quality/quantity squad to make the necessary PL progress.
I think too much is being made of Jay's injury, Saints management have commited to a long term contract and they will know more about his rehabilitation than any of us. I won't be disappointed with any top half finish, we are still growing as a club and there are lots that would give anything for a top ten finish in the Premier League.
