Right, first of all, apologies to those of you seem to take exception to me quoting "experts" who agree with what I've been posting about our non-performance yesterday. However, here is something from the horse's mouth, which you might find enlightening.

Ash's views on the game can be found in today's local newspapers if you can bear to read them in full but here is a precis of some of his comments.

    We didn't play.
    We didn't show enough desire.
    We didn't show enough heart.
We didn't pass the ball well.
We didn't play like it was a derby game.
We didn't show enough to win it for the fans.
We have not yet hit the level of last season.
    I APOLOGISE for the performance.

In addition, the Daily Mirror reports that "attritional HARD WORK won the game for Cardiff".
Chris Wathan, our journo at the Western Mail said that Swansea simply didn't do themselves justice.

    I rest my case.

PS: perhaps certain posters should write to Ash telling him he lacks class for being honest enough to admit we were a crock of s***e yesterday.

    Calm down.

Ash is as entitled to his view as anyone else, and he's right in part. Maybe as Captain he should take some of the blame. I actually thought we played really well first half but dropped off in the second Whether that cost us is debateable because the goal was a soft one from a corner that should have been defended better. That's football. Check the stats - for the away team we did pretty well but should have maintained our intensity throughout the game. You can either agree or disagree. No biggie.

Most of my criticism at some of these posts isn't the criticism of the team per se but their hysterical tone which is tiresome.

Ivor the great majority of fans are behind your views of yesterday mate, we can all see what happened, and have the right to call it as it is, don't worry about the PC bregade on here, they are in a minority. I've read all of Ahley's comments, and Laudrup's too, and Lieghton James yesterday on the BBC Wales phone in, was slating of our performance and work ethic, and he was right to say so, and he stated he 'didn't care what people think' of his view of our players and their poor shift, and that's a passionate fan for you, lets hope this is a turning point for us!..................<ok>

Why are you being such a jerk? You spout off about people being entitled to have an opinion then you mock them. Grow up. Have you ever read the rules of this forum? I suggest you do.

How old are you? For god's sake grow up man....and take some spelling classes ffs. You've already had one official warning on another thread so a word to the wise and wise up. Whether you agree with ivor or not his thread doesn't deserve to be derailed so think before your next offering there's a good chap.

Look if you want to have a serious debate, then I'm all ears, but if you and Norway are going to condescendingly criticise posters for there honest and passionate views, then I'll treat your input with the respect it deserves, I'm sure your intelligent enough to understand that!...............<ok>

When posters complain about spelling, well it just says it all about said poster!..........<laugh>

go through the past issues of the EP since the middle of last season and you will find ash, laudrup, leon and rangel all saying the same thing..."we need to improve in the next game" But its all talk and excuses as they never do and the fans are right to be concerned, what ash said is true but its the same old same old and just words..

Dai it's brewing to more than words though, as clearly from Huw's comments in the media the other day, he's not happy with the defeatist philosophy emanating from our coaching staff, and I should imagine there will be many meetings between board and coaching staff this week, something has got to give, we cannot continue this very poor run of form we are in!....................<ok>

I think you need to be even handed, who the hell is he to tell Ivor to calm down, for simply posting a thread? Is he some bloody Oracle on here or what?

Valley doesn't need to be even handed because you are the only one who has persistently breached the rules despite being warned. Understandably they are concerned that a perfectly good thread is derailed by your silly vendetta.

'Calm down' isn't an insult is it? It reflects my view that the reaction to our defeat has been hysterical by some. If you don't agree then fine. But mocking that view and name-calling is breaching the rules. Ivor is more than capable of complaining if he finds my post offensive. He hasn't complained because it's not.

I've said before the rules are pretty easy to understand so why not give it a go DPJ? Oh, and calm down. <laugh>

Maybe the captain of the team would have been better saying that to his players instead of the evening post...<laugh>

A brutally frank and honest opinion from Ash. From someone who actually went all I can say is that the players did not match our fans for passion and commitment. I'm sorry to say but I am very disappointed. We played a poor Cardiff team that were there for the taking, unfortunatley we were very poor ourselves

Fair point NJ. No good saying this after the event is it? The Captain's job is to marshall the team and motivate them if they are not performing. He's effectively admitted he didn't do that.

I agree Dex - Cardiff aren't very good but we simply backed off in the second after an encouraging first half.

Does to me too, but then what else can he say after yesterday?

Laudrup has changed our style too much, and it's not working, that much is clear, he came and gave us a much needed offencive and direct thrust at opposition defences, but this urgency to attack has not been thought out, as most of the time we simply do not have enough bodies in the box, when crossing the ball in, and on the occasions we do haver the bodies in the mixer, the service is none existent from our wide players, then add into the mix the enigma of Shelvey, and it just simply falls apart.

I really think we need to give some serious thought to our forward line and tactics, and we are in need of cementing our best and strongest midfield!........<ok>

Come on, guys, kiss and make up. Emotion is overflowing everywhere, which is understandable. We are here to debate, discuss and argue all things Swans. We don't always agree but it would be pretty boring if we did.

Here's another snippet from the article. Ash bemoaned the fact that we conceded a set piece goal given that everyone has been working hard on them (credit for that as it was the first SP goal conceded this season). However, in a very thinly disguised swipe at Chico he implied that, whilst he did his job in marking his man, others (has to be Chico) did not. Strikes me as a pretty inflammatory thing to say and flies in the face of keeping things like that in the dressing room. I just hope that our run of bad form isn't leading to a breakdown of team spirit.
