You may be surprised where these 5 ex-Bristol City players are playing now

Bristol City have had a number of players that have come and gone at Ashton Gate over the years.

The Robins are currently playing their football in the Championship, and are in with a chance of winning promotion into the Premier League under the guidance of Lee Johnson.

Although they have struggled for a positive run of results in their last few games, the Robins are sat seventh in the second tier standings, and are just a point adrift of sixth-placed Preston North End.

We take a look at FIVE former Bristol City players that you might be surprised as to where they’re playing their football nowadays.

Find out who they are, below….

David Noble – St Albans City

Noble signed for the Robins in 2006 after an impressive loan spell with the Robins in the previous season.

The midfielder went on to make 91 appearances in total for Bristol City, before moving to Exeter City in search of regular game time.

Noble is now playing his football with St Albans City though, who are in the National League South.

    Jon Stead – Harrogate Town

The striker spent three years with Bristol City, and made 83 appearances, whilst also scoring 20 goals for the Robins.

Stead left the club in May 2013, and moved to Huddersfield Town shortly after leaving Ashton Gate.

The 37-year-old is now playing his football with Vanarama National League side Harrogate Town.

    Yannick Bolasie – Sporting CP

Bolasie spent a season with Bristol City, after signing a two-year deal from Plymouth Argyle in the summer of 2012.

He made 25 appearances for the Robins, but his spell with the club didn’t last long, as he eventually signed for Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee just a year after signing for Bristol City.

Bolasie is currently out on loan from Everton with Portuguese giants Sporting CP, and has made 25 appearances for them, as they look to finish this year’s campaign strongly.

    Steven Caulker – Alanyaspor

Caulker spent the 2010/11 season on loan with Bristol City, and made 30 appearances in total for the Robins in his time with the club.

The defender has had spells at the likes of QPR and Cardiff City, but is now playing his football with Turkish side Alanyaspor.

He has made 39 appearances for them since signing for the club in 2019.

Andy Keogh – NorthEast United FC

Keogh made nine appearances for Bristol City in his loan spell with the club from Wolves in 2011.

The Irishman has become somewhat of a journeyman in recent years, and is now playing his football with NorthEast United in India.

Keogh has scored once in his time with the Indian side, and has been with them since January 2020.

Bolasie, Caulks, Stead and the imperial David Noble ( + Keogh) I loved Stead & Noble, one for total effort, the other could have been a bloody genius IMO, I thank both of them.

I was still seeing Jon Stead on TV in recent seasons playing for Notts County before his move to Harrogate, he was a good player on his day. Noble was also a class act

I always thought Noble had real touch of quality, meant for a higher level
