Any thoughts on what the future holds for Nick Barmby? I'm sure it's been a topic of discussion over the past few weeks but as I'm playing catch up I was wondering if anyone knows whether he's hung up his boots for good or if he fancies another crack at management. I was a big Barmby fan and despite what's happened it's onwards and upwards for City but I still wish him every success with his future whether it's in football or not. Whatever anyone says he was Hull City through and through.
He has hung up his boots but could see him being a coach somewhere! Will probably take some time out first though as he was rushed in to management
I think NB will be a very good manager when he gets a bit more experience and I hope he gets the chance to prove it soon He had a lot of plaudits from his short spell as City boss and maybe a lower ranked Championship team or a decent 1st Division one with a bit more patience will benefit from taking him on.
Surely he'll be busy working on the legal appeal or whatever it is he's doing to prove his total innocence in the recent unjustified sacking that was not at all his fault?
Hark the guy who moans about trolls, its a shame the Allams couldnt move him aside so he could have a coaching role, whether you like it or not some people think the owners made a lot of mistakes regarding his sacking
Totally agree TygerTyger thats why I pointed it out, the guy moaning about trolls making a troll comment
Fanciful I know but Harry Redknapp is not too happy at Spurs I believe since his being in the spotlight for the England job and Nick was a hero at Spurs for quite a while.
If i was him would be pretty disillusioned would be nice to see him back in football in some capacity though
It has been a pretty wild ride for him, t be trown in the deep end and then thrown out! I would imagine he will be taking some time out and I would think there will be plenty of opportuites arising for him...he certainly deserves them and i am sure he will go on to be a successful manager...
Interesting response. So don't you believe he IS putting together a case to fight for unfair dismissal? Knowing the type of feisty guy he was, and no doubt still is, if he WAS unfairly dismissed, he's gonna fight it, if he wasn't, of course he won't. Personally I can see him just retiring, he doesn't need the money. He can support his lad, and maybe even do some TV work. He doesn't need the aggro of management or coaching or whatever.
It's not an interesting response... you're goading people with your posts yet again. Sitting on the fence my arse. We don't currently KNOW what Barmby's doing and we still don't know the situation. Just because you've made your mind up about it that doesn't make it fact. ...Dog with a bone
