... the one that say, in a learned thought out way, "i fully expect southampton to finish bottom" etc (but said in a really long drawn out thought out way) with lots of reasons.... Are they still prepared to stand up and re state their beliefs today?? Come on its no good having a go when we've lost a game. You need to stand by your seasons prognosis after the good games too... Regards
I admit, I have not been pleased with some of Adkins choices this season but he has learnt from his mistakes which is very important. I feel a bit ashamed that I doubted him.
Think he has shown throughout his career that he learns quickly as TBF the whole team have done. They are playing with a confidence that just wasn't there in earlier matches!
I was always nervous about this season, (was never an Adkins basher though - I think the guy is brilliant and was asking everyone I knew to stick with him, even if we got relegated), I am just realistic and so was managing my expectations after the last few seasons. However, I think it is fair to say this ; each game goes by I am less nervous as for the first time I can remember (and I believe fairly uniquely across football) we have a manager who 1) Isn't so stubborn as to believe he doesn't have room for improvement too... 2) clearly has the support of everyone at the club (just think how much Puncheon must be an advocate for the man now ..) and 3) has the ability to continuously improve each and every player. I know we'll have a few more disappointing results along the way, but looking at the progress so far through the season, and the comments from so many of the teams we have played, we're going to be fine (albeit only 16th !!)
There's a difference at being angry at a bad result and having some kind of vendetta against Nigel though. He needed to start getting results, which he knew of course, and he has. Onwards and upwards I'm sure I remember at least one person saying we would lower Derby's record. Good news for them.
I was one questioning NA after our poor start, wouldn't say i was an adkins basher though just not happy with our pre swansea performnances which i think i was justified in questioning. I will keep my opinions on how well i think we are doing untill after our next 2 games though as Qpr were proper toilet and Newcastle were a shadow of the team we should of played against. As i was told on numerous occasions judge us after 10 games so after the first 10 we were below average and in this block of 10 we are currently outstanding lets hope we continue it.
And hopefully Nicola's show of faith, and lack of kneejerk reaction to media pressure will be repaid by Nigel when teams come knocking to poach him from us!
he's learnt from his mistakes recently and made some good tactical substitutions definitely not because of this.
I think this is doing him a bit of a disservice. Pointing to the substitutions as the main factor in us losing matches is simplistic and almost certainly incorrect, and I haven't seen anything to suggest his use of substitutes has changed.
NA is a secret not606 poster. That's why Rickie starts and Fox has been dropped. Apparently he's working on thickening the white stripes...
I'd love the pinstripes if they were just a little bit thicker. It just looks like an all-red kit from a distance.
A couple of poor results, for whatever reasons, will soon have the mongs coming back on here with their "I told you so" rubbish.
