Ok, the majority of us on here pretty much regard Bates as a dodgey crook not to be trusted. We have repeatedly heard the infamous "that will go into Simons transfer pot" line. But what I really want to know is what ever happened to the Delph transfer fee that was promised by Bates to buy back the training facilities (but never did - shock/horror!) I cant see where that amount of money, whether in installments or not, has been used to buy players. Has it just been absorbed into the cost of re-vamping the East stand or has it bought Bates a new yacht or 2? Does anybody really know?
i honestly believe it was to pay of debts/investors or whatever. And the fact remains wherever it has gone, people can speculate as much as they want. Its not going to be suddenly injected into the team now.
Who really cares anymore.. We will never know... What he has or has'nt taken will always be a mystery...... I am glad he stopped Krasner & Co getting anymore out of the club. He is an 80 year old man who can not have long left to cash in on Leeds United, so he might not make any real return for all the time spent. Plus in his defence he must have spent some of it on the East Stand as I doubt he got credit.
