I think he only really praised us as a gee up to his own players. They've got Spurs next week and need to play better than that.

Much as I don't like him you've got to admire the way he handles his players and the media. Lambert does both of these very well too of course.

Can anyone think of ANY hugely successful person who can genuinely be said to be "likeable". You don't get to the absolute top of any profession without trampling on others, and you won't stay at the top either. These people are "nice" only to those they don't feel threatened by. They may earn respect, but likeable? No.

I understand his comment but love him or hate him, he has been the most successful manager ever. I think we could be a bit more positive ourselves. We have been slated in some quarters for a bit long ball second half, but we equalised during that period so whats wrong with that.
While they dominated for the first 20minutes and the last 10, I think we were the better side for the bits in between. And it wasn't just down to them playing badly. We realised they aren't unbeatable and took the game back at them. De Gea and Ferdinand had tremendous games, as they should do, but I think thats a measure of the way we played. We don't have to settle for well done, we are proud of you. We have arrived and are quite capable of giving the lot of them a game.
