So know with the signing of Neil Danns yesterday it made me think where does he fit in. We already have Richie Wellens, Andy King, Matt Oakley and Yuki Abe. Abe and Oakley will be the holding midfielders and Wellens, King and Danns the attacking midfielders. Out of Wellens and King i would of thought Danns is more like Wellens then King. If we change the formation to 442 that would mean 3 of the players missing out so who would it be. In my opinion King isnt strong enough defensively to play in a 2 so would it be him. With Danns and Wellens as the 2.

Sven has got some competition on the middle of the park and i dont think any of them will leave. Wellens, King and Oakley have all signed new contracts recently and the owners wont let Yuki leave so i dont think we will be signing any more midfielders. Some people was saying they wanted to see a midfield enforcer come in. So maybe that will be Sol Bamba instead

    Rumours today

    Sheffield Wednesday want Lloyd Dyer
Jack Hobbs isnt far off signing for Hull
And we arent far off more signings

Basically danns wellens and king will be 1st choice 3. Abe on bench, Oakley will play bit-part role. Wellens will sit and pass from deep, Danns will be all action box to box, King supporting Maynard uptop;)

Wellens is best off by letting him attack. Neither Danns, Wellens or King are holding midfielders. Andy King did play more of a holding role in league 1 but that was League 1 and Matt Oakley was on top form every week in that league

yeah yeah, just wellens will be the least attacking of the 3 but dannsa and wellens can tackle, and danns and king can get forward, so the 3 would be perfect balance.

nice problem to have for a change....you get promotion with a squad, king needs to be put under pressure to keep his place...his form dipped half way through the season, he can go AWOL in matches...danns will keep them all at it....great signing for me........nobody is automatic first choice anymore....

If Oakley plays like he did towards the back end of last season you cant rule him out. He was playing miles better then King and even better then Wellens at the end. But Oakleys legs are going so he will be a squad player. Yuki should be even better next season aswell now he has had time to settle

I can see the Danns, Wellens and King trio working well with all three supporting the attack as well as dropping back (maybe not King). This may put strain on central midfield but that's why we have options now. Sven obviously wants to play 433 so now we have 5 men who can all do it, strength in depth

Danns on foxes player talks about how he is a box to box player, and thats what we need as a first priority in midfield.

Wellens and King were 2 of our top 3 performers last season. I can't see a good reason to drop either of them.

Wellens may have to play a bit deeper.

Think it will be Wellens King and Danns to start, I like Abe but he is abit lightweight! but over the season with injuries and suspensions
they will all have a big part to play Including Oakley who i rate but unfortunatly his age is catching up with him.

I like Kingy but his form was pretty poor from around Feb/March onwards. Sometimes I would just watch him and he was a missiing man in many games and to me it was noticeable that when the going got tough and we got bullied he went awol (and we got bullied a lot last season - think some clubs sussed us out). I really think this needs addressing and if he is to realise his potential the Faz will be working on increasing his strenghth and aggression over the summer. I'm sure Kingy will do it and he will be worth 12/14 goals next season but he isn't the fnished article.

Anyway Yuki will make way for Danns. I would love to see Richie play deeper and a holding role in front of the back 4 - I think he is made for it and it suits him perfectly. I think Sven is looking at quick pacey wingbacks to negate the requirement for out and out wingers from midfield. So guiess we will play 4 5 1?? But then what the **** do I know..... :undecided:

I think Wellens, King and Danns will be first choice and I think they might be used in a 4-2-3-1 style system that would look something like this:

    -----------------Danns----Wellens--------------------
    WINGER----------------King---------------Galagher----
    ----------------------STRIKER-------------------------

and then Wellens and Danns can vary who supports the attackers whilst the other sits and protects the back four.

He's going to add a bit more bite into the midfield, and hopefully distribution to compete with Gally's. I can see him playing alongside Wellens, with Richie holding a bit more than he did. Its lovely to think we have a Japanese international on the bench who can fill in anywhere if one of the others is having a bit of an off day...
