Just interested in finding out where some of my fellow gunners watch the match when you are unable to travel to see it live. In South Africa we have Supersport, which airs Premier League (and sometimes Championship) matches on 4 different channels, the pick of which can be found on Supersport 3 (which is what I have). It's linked to some UK channel though, or program which has Andy Townsend and (sometimes) Alan Curbishley giving thoughts on the game along with a few other well known English football personalities. John Dykes is the host. I'm unfamiliar with commentary channels in the UK. The commentary itself is pretty poor and very anti Arsenal. Does anyone know this program? I think, it is called Match of the Day, although I'm not sure. Does anyone have any opinions about this?
I'm talking about when the current contract expires in the same way ESPN has lost the rights to show the PL over here
In London I obviously watch on sky. I'm currently in Pakistan and here espn always shows arsenal matches for so,e odd reason despite the overwhelming support for Manu and pool.
I see the Homegames at the Emirates and usually stream the away games. The big games have HD quality streams on SopCast so when I hook it up to the TV it will be just like as if I'm watching Sky Sports. Don't see a reason to throw my money at Sky just to get half of Arsenal's games at best + halfwits as pundits. Would obviously be a whole different story if they'd broadcast every single game.
I mainly watch the games at home, occasionaly down at the pub (i used to go down to the pub for every game that was on tv but have moved and it's more difficult to get to and from the pub!). I watch on Sky Sports / ESPN if they are on TV (and will consider getting rid of ESPN when they stop showing english football!) and watch online any games that are not using a variety of websites - usually Hahasports has a couple of good links, firstrow, firstsport etc etc... theres about a million websites who do it! I have only been to a few games live and i'm not in a position to change that any time soon
I watch the football at the "Old Crown and Anchor" in downtown Riyadh. Ambience is excellent with pre-match entertainment in the form of dancing girls, a meat raffle and selected Koranic readings. Every now and again the landlord does a "guest beer special" with half price drinks. I got to sample a few that I would never have got to try back at home - the Yemeni Goat-curdler was especially potent. The landlord has a deal with the local satellite company and has a number of giant screens up against one wall and shows all the live premier games simultaneously. You have to keep concentrating, especially as the YGC takes hold. Can't say that I am looking forward to returning home at the end of the contract at Christmas - where would I find a set-up like that in Woking?
The only away games I get to are the London ones and I can only get to a few home games because of work these days. I'm fortunate that I can use the company season tickets occasionally or blag corporate invites to derbies like the recent West Ham game. I would never go to Tottenham High Road to watch us play as I refuse to put money into their coffers. As for the corporate side of things, Chelsea have provided me with the best culinary experience so far. West Ham's was the worst.
Yes I have. I would not go to watch us (AFC) play the Spuds at Tottenham High road as I don't want to help finance the old enemy. Have I missed something obvious? Wouldn't be the first time
Well that's is abit narrow minded considering first off someone else will no doubt take your place. Secondly I'm not sure if tickets allocated for away fans goes into the spurs coffers though I may be mistaken. Though stretching your perpspective if everyone agreed with what you said we wouldn't have anyone cheering on our team at the lane won't improve our team moral.
I think I might've been wrong actually I was thinking of how in the cups lower league teams prefer an away tie against a big club as they get more money from it which made me think Arsenal get a portion of the money for away games in the PL too. Not so sure that's the case for the Premier League now I think about it
Up here in Finland I pay 49 euros (one off payment)to a Finnish TV station (MTV 3) and for that I get to watch all 38 Arsenal premier league matches live on the internet. If I want I could pay euro 100 for every premier league game (all teams)! For the other competitions I use wiziwig and sopcast
Other fans can choose to spend their money where they want to and I am certain that we will always fill our away quota at Tottenham High Road tbh. I may be narrow minded, but I think it's my choice. Just as I choose not to knowingly buy products from certain countries
