I know that the Championship is hard to predict etc etc, but where do people expect us to actually finish in the league this season? At the start of last season we all expected automatic promotion, but this season I have read so many different threads stating different expectations, therefore, I thought it would be good to compile everyone's thoughts together in a poll.
Mid-table is reasonable enough I think. With the right signings, maybe we could make a push for the play offs.
Realistically 9th to 15th, and I would be satisfied with the top end of that given that we have spent very little to bolster the squad.
I've said from the beginning that I think we will make the play-offs. I think we can and we will. How it goes after that well that is another matter. I'm very confident but realistic and I won't be disappointed with a mid-table finish as long as we establish ourselves and have something to build on the following season. We are 2 years into the 5 year plan aren't we? 3 cracks at promotion and we are still on course.
Just as most PL teams state that their priority is hitting 40 points first and worry about anything after that later, most teams who have just gained a promotion would be satisfied with staying in their new division. So long as we do that (and I don't think there's any doubt we will) I won't be unhappy. However, what I actually expect is a play off place provided (as I have said a few times before) we get a good start. Reasoning: Despite many posts to the contrary, we have a great squad without any obvious weaknesses We have lots of goals in us (even against teams in higher divisions) We have a great team/squad spirit We have momentum We have great support, particularly away which is where it really counts We have a dynamic and fearless manager who responds well tactically during games I believe that the whole staff believe that they are capable of getting there and that's half the battle And of course, there's always the outside chance that our new kit will dazzle the opposition but we'll have to wait for tomorrow to see if I'm right about that one!
