Do you think we'll be in the hands of the PST and looking for promotion from League Two at the first attempt? Will we be sitting in mid-table, treading water? Will we be in a relegation battle, trying to avoid dropping into the Conference? Will Portsmouth FC have been liquidated? If so will we have a phoenix club in non-league? Will liquidation have come too late for a new club to be accepted for next season, meaning we're without a club and waiting for our phoenix club to join the pyramid in August 2014?
Heart wanted to put us as promotion contenders - but head says we still have struggles ahead, trying to rebuild, so can't expect to come shooting back up the leagues.
I'm still pulling for a PST takeover so I think we'll be in League Two next season. My aim then is simply a safe mid-table finish. We need to rebuild and restructure and get some off-field stability as well as on-field stability. For that we need to accept a few seasons of lower-league mediocrity. If' we'd done that when we were relegate from the Premier League instead of letting Cotterill sell all out youngsters and bring in more player on big wages we'd be much better off now.
I'm not in the know or anything, but I did get the impression that Cotterill, and Lampitt, believed their task was to get the team straight back up to the Prem, hence the quality over quantity. I do get amazed though by the managers who seem to have very little interest in their club's academy and ignore the youngsters apart from ditching them.
