I have not been on here for a while and have some time today as it is my day off, So I would like to ask,
Where do you think Cody will be next season.

    I have just found this.
    http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/20062011/63/latics-talks-strike-duo.html

Oldham boss Paul Dickov has held talks with strikers Cody McDonald and Clayton Donaldson.

The two players are among the best goal scorers in the lower divisions.

McDonald hit the headlines by scoring 26 goals for Gillingham last season during a loan spell from Norwich, while Donaldson finished as the top scorer in League Two with 29 strikes for Crewe.

"I am not stupid and realise that goalscorers of their calibre will attract a lot of interest," Dickov told the club`s official website. "But I have spoken to both players, and there are a lot of clubs in for them.

"If it is purely down to money, then they are not my type of player. I want footballers who will buy into what we are trying to achieve here."

If it was down to me I would keep him, Give him a go, if he don't do the job, Then let him go, hopefully by then we will get promoted to league 1 for the 2012-2013 season and he could be one of our signings.

Good to hear from you HOADIE, the thing is, Paul Lambert plays his cards very close to his chest, he keeps very quiet until something is on the verge of happening. Personally, I'd like us to keep him, I really rate him, but who knows? Good luck to the Gills promotion push next season <ok>

Millwall on loan would be best to see what he's made of otherwise Orient.

I would rather him go anywhere other than Millwall, Would hate to see him with that shirt on.

Let us look at the basic facts. From last years squad we have got to get rid of at least 8 and so far have got rid of only 3 ( who were out of contract ). 5 more to go and Cody is obviously one of them as he appeals to lower league sides. To keep him and send him out on loan would mean that we would have to offer him a new contract as the current one expires at the end of the season. That would only make sense if there was a good chance of him eventually doing a job in the Premiership but again look at the basic facts. He scored goals for fun in non league football and came here when we were in the Championship. Did he score goals - No! We dropped to Div 1. Did he score goals? No! We came back to the Championship and obviously PL didn't think he would improve the squad and shipped him off to Div 2 Gillingham where again he scored for fun. What does that tell us? To me it says that he is a lower league striker who might do well as high as Div 1 but no higher. Some City fans seem to like him because he runs about a lot but you need a lot more than that in the Championship and even more so in the Premier. Let him go to the highest bidder with a sell on clause.

I don't know but Bryan Gunn's been waxing lyrical about signing him in the Pinkun today, well done Bryan give yourself a pat on the back and rain in the plaudits. In all fairness I think McDonald could cut it at a Championship level.

Yeah for the price he got him, what a buy, he makes Jackson at 150k look overpriced, but Jackson was a complete bargain as well as him.

I was being sarcastic about the Bryan Gunn bit, seems to searching for compliments in that article. I hope it all goes well for McDonald though.

Stray saint just popped in to wish you good luck next season. my brother was a massive canary fan sadly he passed away last year but in know he would tease me something rotten having you lot beating us back to the prem.We also possess a signed canary shirt in our family sent to him by your club on his sons request which lifted his spirits when he was very ill it is now a treasured possession.I think you will do pretty well under the guidance of Lambert enjoy the ride By the way how is Surman shaping up he was regarded highly at saints by all and how will we fare in the championship in your opinions
