    Evening Saints fans!

After your great start to the season, optimism is rife it appears.

Do you reckon you guys can keep it up?

My work colleague originally said you would finish 8-10, but how now changed his mind to top four.

With players like Lallana and Lambert you might just be abe to!

    Thoughts?

I had 8th/9th before the 1st game and I'm hesitant to change that after only 2 games. If we continue our magnificent home form of just one league defeat in nearly a year under Adkins now.

Getting carried away would be silly. Ask me again after our toughest spell (imo) after New Year and then we'll see.

I guessed about mid-table before the season started. I'm now hopeful of top 6 after only 2 games..yes, daft I know, but I am a Saints fan and it goes with the territory.

Cheers! I work with a few Saints fans, so I end up keeping an eye on them too. I think you have a very good chance at going up.

Managed to blag a box seat for your game against Brum in a month or so!

As for us, I think we will get fifth. I still think we are quite a way off. Lacking defenders.

    Hi Sir bow4fowler.

I'm old enough to remember Bill Shankly on the TV when I was a kid. I remember his line that is your signature too. Since then, mine has been similar, but slightly different.

Saints are the only side that matters. The rest exist purely to give us teams to play against.

Having said that, do us all a favour and stop the media darlings that are ManU, this season, could you please..? Really..? Huh..? Wall-to-wall ManU is putting me off football.

I'd love us too. But to be honest I don't think any team can stop them this year.

I think we're miles off. One day they will tumble, but not this year!

We'll beat them at home though.

Before the season started I just wanted us to stay up, and finishing above pompey would be sublime. Anything better and tis a bonus. After our first few games i'm not getting carried away but believe I should be content this season!

Sir bow4fowler will you be following the adventures of Robbie for Muangthong United? I see on his wiki, 2 games 0 goals as of yet. How much are they paying him I wonder?!

When I was growing up, Liverpool were THE TEAM. Not these Johnny-Come-Lately's in the other red shirts. If a team beat Liverpool, traffic stopped in the streets. The country came to a halt in astonishment. And because of Bill Shankly [oh, and The Beatles too] I actually liked Liverpool.

Truthfully, what happened to your lot..?

EDIT: Thoroughly enjoying Saints at present. We're all feeling more positive than we've been in years.

8th and trying not to get carried away, because after we lose our first game (and yes sadly we will probably lose a game) all the trolls will come out and say we need another striker, centre mid, winger, goalie, kit man, reserve team manager etc...

God knows what happened. Souness a little. I think we were static in the 1990's whereas the likes of United turned more professional, global, bigger stadia and generally invested more heavily.

Houllier was okay, but not capable of getting us the title. Rafa came very close, and if I think if he had a free reign on spending I think we would of won in 08/09. After missing out we were always going to have to regroup. Roy, don't even mention him. Not what an aspiring club needs/wants.

New owners now though. Onwards and upwards.

Lambert seems to have a mental block and will be dropped soon <laugh>

On a serious note I would still be happy with a mid table finish. It's nice to be up there though at the moment.

Before the season began I thought we could finish as champions but after our great start I think we could do better.
