The way I see it, the aftermath of our first string side losing to a fourth division side can go one of two ways; 1) The players treat this as a wakeup call, push on and get a few decent results, and we look back on this moment at the end of the season as our nadir/turning point 2) The players become disheartened (even more so), and fall into a downwards spiral, culminating in an awful season, and we look back on this moment as the beginning of the end (i.e. Wenger, Walcott, Sagna all leaving) I know its a bit black and white, but I honestly believe that these are the the two most likely outcomes, my heart hopes that it'll be the first, but my head isn't so sure. Anyone else feeling the same way? Or do you think we'll just amble along the rest of the season to a (hopefully) 4th spot
I thought the OP meant it as a directional thread. If thats the case, we go to Reading next monday, providing Wenger doesn't break the satnav, because he knows better. Probably miss a few turnings too, as he "didn't see them"
It has to be the first course. If these players are not embarrased enough to start playing for pride, then they never will. Whatever anyone says, last night was an abject performance - the nadir indeed. I sincerely hope that these players have more about them.
winifred122, I think the result was abject and hopefully the nadir (love that word), and you could say the finishing also, but the performance as a whole wasn't so bad.
It was amazing that we didn't score in extra time, it was 95% Arsenal attack and chance after chance after chance with unfortunatley no clinicism in front of goal.
