How the **** do some of these judges and referees get to become refs and judges? In the last 3 years theres been so many ridiculous decisions from refs and judges and it's really beyond me. After the Chisora robbery tonight i feel i'm slowly losing patience with refs and judges, why should Chisora get robbed just because his fighting abroad? Judges are paid to be fair and give the fair result but just like Martin Murray last night Derek got robbed tonight, in my opinion he won by 4-5 rounds at least, he was never hurt, landed the better punches and was the aggressor, and thats without mentioning that **** of a ref, what the **** was that guy doing as a ref ???? How could chisora not avoid putting his head in when his throwing when his half the guys size, and i aint being funny but it didn't exactly look like del done anything wrong to me, and if the ref thought he was he should have taken about 5 points at least due to he pulled him up on it about 8 times, and once last point, why the **** did he stop chisora so the ref could pull his shorts up about a centermetre, what a ****ing idiot Aside from these two what about the Marquez V Pacman fight? Once again another example of a robbery Khan v McCloskey - Bad refeering again, why stop the fight for a cut the same length as a fingernail? Mayweather v Ortiz - What the **** was Cortez doing there Some of the decisions in prizefighter in the last two years have been absouletely pathetic aswell. I'm not claiming that my opinion is always right but most of the time major people in the boxing game are saying the same things and i just come to wonder who these judges and refs are? I think the only people that should be judges and refs are ex-fighters or people in the boxing game because the people they have now seem to be people that know **** all about boxing, they should also have tvs on their judges desk where they can review the main aspects of the fight before making their decision. Really is becoming a joke, anyone agree/disagree?
Its becoming a major issue and it is especially prevalent in some European countries such as Germany and Poland where the away fighter has to get a knocked out it he has any chance of winning the fight, I saw a heavyweight fight recently in Poland which had a Polish fighter against an Senegal/Italian opponent. The Italian was winning almost every round while the Polish fighter kept complaining about low blows every though they were legitimate body punches, referee got scared after some abuse and decided to disqualify the Italian even though he scored a legitimate Knock down during the middle rounds, cant remember the name of the fighters but it was downright disgusting to watch. Another recent example was the robbery between Marquez vs Pacquaio 3 in which Marquez won probably 9/10 rounds but still lost some how.
Thats pathetic, these refs and judges seriously need a kick up the ass. And I totally agree mate, could understand a bit if the fights were close but most of them aint the winner is clear by at least a few rounds in the ones i've mentioned plus a lot more. These judges need to stop being swayed by the crowd aswell, i mean that crowd tonight half the punches they cheered didn't even land but their reaction seems to confuse the judges, it's ****ing annoying and shameful that to win a fight in a european country you have to win by knockout. Feel really sorry for these fighters and i hope Chisora gets a rematch even though i doubt that foreign **** will wanna go anywhere near Chisora after that. It's seriously ruining the sport
Boxing Politics and dodgy decisions are killing the sport; you have fighters who will use anything possible to get out of a fight while other fighters have to rely on terrible judges and referees to bail them out, one of things I hate at the moment are all these new Belts coming out for example one boxing body may have several belts for one specific weight i.e. Diamond belt, and the WBA’s Super Belt meaning that fighters are now more likely to dodge each other an as a result it becomes very difficult to determine who the number one in the world is for a particular weight. That one thing I like about the UFC in that you cant dodge anyone and there are very few belts in each weight.
Exactly, totally agree again mate. Boxings all about money these days, a boxer use to want to fight the best to prove he is the best now a lot of the boxers just want to fight the easiest fight to pick up their pay cheque, and your right the boxing board aren't helping with all these micky mouse belts, there should be one belt per weight class then the only thing your have in boxing is big fights.
Paper belt world champions not deserved in it for the money these days ,over paid and un entertaining
I agree there are some totally shameful results being spewed out recently. Something needs to change fundamentally or boxing is going to suffer - it doesn't help anyone in the long-run to have fights fixed, it just turns people away from the sport. It happens at every level of the game - I have a mate who boxes at amateur level and some of the decisions we've seen at shows he's been fighting on have been a really bad joke. It get's to the stage where you can't even look at someone's record now without wondering how many of the fights have been 'influenced' in some way. On the positive side, we have fighters like Carl Froch who is old-school and is about to complete the 'Super-6' series... fair play to him.
