Been meaning to ask this for ages. I used to go to a site which provided numbers on how many shots/shots on target/passes/tackles etc a player had made both in any particular game and in the season overall. Haven't found it for maybe a couple of years now and was wondering where other people went for information like this - both for individual players and for teams. Just so I bring something to the party - I use this website when I want to remind myself of transfers and when they happened etc though the dates are arranged a bit dodgily and some of the fees on there seem well off: http://www.soccerbase.com/tournaments/home.sd All suggestions appreciated.
Who Scored's a pretty easy to use resource and uses OPTA stats. Their articles are rubbish and so is their performance ranking system but the naked stats are easy to find and accurate. I'd link to it but the site's not working at the moment but generally it's good, I promise
AFAIK, most people pool whatever Opta stat stuff gets put out there on the public Net. I assume Opta offer a paid service for those who really want the full info.
Is there a stat site that'll show me that Liverpool have only finished above us once in the past 5 years? There's only so many times I can show my mate the Dawson goal.

Squawka seems to have hoards of stats and fairly easy comparison tools, but their articles are largely ****e. http://www.squawka.com/
Thanks everyone. Still nothing that shows stuff like number of shots in a game (or per game). I now wonder if that site I came across before that had all that got closed down cos they were basically publishing Opta's stats for free...
Statto's great when you want to say: "I think you'll find Chelsea were 19th in the Second Division on 2nd May 1983." http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/division-two-old/1982-1983/table/1983-05-02
Still at least that powerhouse of English football had as much support back then when they weren't ruining the financial and aesthetic landscape of English football with first gigantic debts and then Russian blood money. Oh wait... http://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/chls.htm Average attendance of 12,672? The mighty Chelsea? Surely some mistake?

But that's the youth team, right? Or the reserves? It's just that Chelsea have always been such a massive club, even before they were bought and propped up by a billionaire gangster. Right? I mean - they were massive in the 90s, right? Right? All those fans have always been going to Stamford Bridge, haven't they? Not just a bunch of tasteless glory-seekers. I know this for a fact because several Chelsea fans have told me so.
Who scored and http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Tottenham_Hotspur_Minutes_2014-15.html That’s crazy talk. The process rewards careful analysis. 1. Put nobody anywhere near where it’s possible to score with a header, leaving a yawning void in front of your keeper. 2. Hope you’re playing everyone offside. 3. Remember Balotelli is in the side. 4. Watch Balotelli play Dawson onside. 5. Watch Balotelli raise his hand for the offsides call, even though he knows perfectly well Dawson is onside. 6. Watch Balotelli stand stock still with his hand raised, when running towards Dawson, or even looking at him hard, might well be enough to make him miss, given Dawson’s goal scoring record of one goal every five years or so isn’t the most brilliant. 7. Watch Dawson score. 8. Complain bitterly to the officials about a correct call.
