Firstly, congrats to the lads and travelling supporters for the win. Superb Really happy for HH, an absolute warrior and top class pro. He always gets stuck in (just look at his face!!), top finisher in the air and never throws his toys out of the pram. Also great to see Mackie starting regularly now, we all feared the worst when he broke his leg as many pros never fully recover from injuries like that. He has great work ethic, a real engine in him. Also, a good football brain by the look of it. All in all, seems like quite a few existing players are really holding their own in the Prem. Faurlin has caught the eye of a few teams I'm sure. Reckon that now we are able to hold our own at this stage I'm sure tony fernandes will break open the chequebook and continue to strengthen the squad, if only to add some depth as we were a bit light on the floor with subs (trot hewitt!!)
Yep, it really seems like Mackie is making a huge difference to the way we play. Complete opposite of Adel of course and difficult to see how he fits in while we continue to battle as hard as we did yesterday. Not much left to say about the Iceman. What a revelation these last 12 months. The way he is playing he would get a game in any of the Prem teams below the top 6 IMO.
Correct. And its extraordinary because most players are never the same after a leg break. Kev Gallen for example.
Jamie Mackie, Shawn Derry & Clint Hill were certainly all revelations, but........ Rob Hulse? Leon Clarke? (getting goals now at Chesterfield, but in a losing cause) PVM? (never got a fair shake) Bruno Perone? Jason Puncheon? (on loan - wasted space on a 25 man roster - really hope he goes back to Southampton) I would like us to snap up youngster Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield in the January transfer window, plus a few established players.
