Look at our next 4 games.

Newastle vs Villa
Spurs vs Newcastle.
Newcastle vs Wolves
Newcastle vs Sunderland.

IMO Villa and Wolves should both be wins with reasonable comfort, if Ba comes back the way he left and Cisse does his part.

Spurs, I reckon we'll lose but we could nick a draw.

Sunderland will be a tough one, but I think we'll nick it.

We will have all our players back, Cabaye, Tiote, Ba and Cisse.

Anything can happen in a derby, but I reckon we have what it takes to edge it.

So if we can take 9pts from our next 4 games, where could we be?

Chelsea have Man Utd coming up, also a tough away trip to Everton, and they are off form.

Arsenal aren't picking up much. They've got some very tough games coming up. They should win vs Blackburn at home, but they have a very hard game away to Sunderland coming up, then Spurs and then Liverpool.

Liverpool have Tottenham, Man Utd and Arsenal coming up.

I don't want to jinx it, but we are due a good run of games, could we put a gap between us and Arsenal/Liverpool in 5th, and possible nick Chelsea's 4th spot for the time being?

They will have their easier games yes, and us our harder games, but we've got a decent mix towards the end of the season.

Makes you wonder what could happen. Even if we don't beat Sunderland, I still fancy us to get 7pts at least from those 4 games, and I reckon it will put us a decent amount of points away from 6th/7th and mile away from 8th.

I'm still keeping my head down to earth and I'd be happy with 7th.. but... 0.0

If we play anything like we did tonight then all those games will be very difficult.

Having Ba and Cisse back will give us a boost and we should go back to a 4-4-2 formation with the Demba's up front and Jonas back on the left as we've looked so unbalanced playing a 4-3-3 of late

I'm with you Tash! We really couldn't hope for a much better schedule, and if we really are going to make a run at the 4-6 spots, I think this next month is our chance to solidify ourselves as genuine competitors for them.

I've learned from experience that any time I look at a run of fixtures with optimism, and start to predict a streak of wins, I always come to the end of that run of fixtures incredibly disappointed, the most recent being Norwich through West Brom in December. So I think we'll lose all 4, getting beaten 5-1 by the mackems in the process...

If we take 9 points from them four games that will put us on 48 points, and in the 2010/2011 season it took 58 to finish 6th and 62 to finish 5th. We still have to play: Norwich, Stoke, Bolton, Liverpool and Man City at home. Out of those home fixtures and without injuries or suspensions, i think we could take 8 points if we perform well. We would have to play Wigan, West Brom, Everton, Swansea, Arsenal and Chelsea away. From them, if i'm being optimistic, we could get 8 points, so with all that added together we would have 64 points..

On paper a lot of wins look possible. I think we will beat Wolves, but I can see 4 points from the Villa and Sunderland games. If we play the high line v Villa the pace of Agbonlahor will be a real problem.

Spurs away is a probable loss.

So trying to keep it real, I'll say 7 points from 4 games.

Playing **** and we're 5th. 3 points off fourth.

Imagine we hit form.

This is the key here. We're in the position we're in after actually going through a somewhat poor run of form, Man Utd aside.

If we actually hit a good run of form with our key players back, we could do really well. Big IF, mind.

I remember an article a while back saying where do you want to be after the ACON.

Pretty sure everyone there said 7th and just being in a realistic position of catching 6th.

If someone would of said 5th and 3 points behind 4th I'd of snapped their hand off.

We will struggle without Tiote and Cabaye.

Yes we will miss them but what team wouldn't? I am hoping that with the vastly superior pace and movement of Ba and Cisse will actually add some protection to the midfield in terms of occupying defenders and making them rush things, allowing us to control games better.

Going by last nights performance I will happily take 6 points from the next 4 games

Newastle 1 vs 1 Villa
Spurs 1 vs 1 Newcastle.
Newcastle 1 vs 0 Wolves
Newcastle 1 vs 1 Sunderland.

Three out of four at home will/should help.............<ok>

Ba and Cisse should transform our team. Literally.

To win games, you need to score goals. At the moment, we would go from having arguably the worst strike force in the entire premier league, to one of the best in the entire league. How much of a jump up is that? I think even the top 4 teams would look a bit ****e with Shola and Best at the helm.

As soon as Ba and Cisse are in the side and looking comfortable, our ability to score goals will dramatically increase, and so will the pressure on the opposition, so their defence and midfield gets more stretched and gives us more space. It should really transform the way we play.
