I asked this in my post in the Lovren thread, but it was long and I don't think anyone could be bothered to read it (I don't blame you!).

From what I could see, I couldn't spot Manny in any of the recent training pics, am I right in that? If so, I'm just wondering where the cheeky chap is. Surely with not being involved in WC action etc, he should have been one of the ones coming in early. Unless it is something to do with his Sochaux loan not yet ending or something weird like that.

I know he divides opinion: some say he is straight up not good enough, whereas others say he has not been given a decent crack of the whip. Personally, I would like him to stay and have a little longer to prove himself. He is only 23 and can improve his game I think, and if we go on good cup runs then maybe that is the opportunity for him to shine. Especially as the squad is so thin at the moment (hopefully for not much longer!) then I don't see the harm in him being around as cover in the league.

Manny reported back for training on Tuesday the 1st along with his team-mates and has been in the training footage posted on YouTube since.

Just seen your response in the Lovren thread Fran, thank you! I'm glad to know he is alive and well, I will have a look now and try to spot the speedy little bugger myself.

My thoughts still stand, but what do you guys think, should he stay or should he go?!

I answered your question on the other thread, but checked I was right first. His little smiley face is in a couple of shots. Everyone starts with a clean sheet under a new manager...up to him to take his chance.

Oh man, I have just checked out the training pics and see him as early as photo 10 of 109! I haven't seen these pictures, not sure why though. I did watch the YouTube video but couldn't see him on that, hence my worries for the young fellow.

    I'd love him to succeed.

Thank you! Definitely up to him to take his chance, I just hope he get's that chance. Like you say, everyone starts with a clean sheet, so hopefully that is the case.

Me too, I really think he is a good character to have in the squad and would love him to succeed. I know there is no room for sentiments here, and no point having him around just for the sake of joviality in the squad, so I'm hoping he can show us something on the football side of things too.

Don't tell me that, I am going to fear for my sanity now, or at the very least, my ability to look at things and have my brain register them <laugh>

I'm not convinced that he can play as a 'lone striker' role - so if he is to be part of the team going forward he needs to either player as a winger or as part of a front 2 (imo)

From what little I've seen, he certainly has the pace to worry defenders. He also seems to get himself in dangerous positions. Presumably he wasn't showing much end product in training before, but now he starts fresh with a new manager. Fingers crossed he gets his chance, and takes it.

He really did not fit into the MP style of play but as others have said, he has blistering pace. Did not score too many whilst out on loan but would be interesting to see how many assists. I think if we play more with wingers he will get more of a look in.

Why is it so many of these African guys are able to do those multiple back-flip celebrations? It's not fair. My roly-poly's are okay but my cartwheels are ****.

Do they have special flipping lessons in school? All those hours I spent in double-science for no reason, I should have been on the playground flipping.

He's not going to be part of the team going forward. If we were losing all these players and not able to reinvest in the squad, then yeah, we'd end up having to play Mayuka. But not when we've got like £100m to improve the team.

He can be a useful backup player untill his contract runs out to show us if he has the ability for the prem. we really do need a much bigger squad so he has an important role to play.

I thought he was a short arse, but he is not much smaller than vic, and just as stocky. With his speed he must be a nightmare to bump off the ball. Things did not go well for him in France but i`m hoping Ron gives him a decent run

I think that's actually a coded warning message to Lallana. They're going to chop his foot off.
