The Post has done a feature on the Rovers team who played vs Mansfield at the Mem when we got relegated out of the football league. Its a 'where are they now' feature. Its players who were actually on the pitch. Not unused subs.

Seanan Clucas – Line up in central midfield alongside O'Toole that day but contract came to end a few days later and he decided to return home to Northern Ireland. Signed for Linfield before moving onto Derry City but is currently a free agent.

    John-Joe O'Toole
    – Went from hero to zero within the space of 12 months. Signed amid much fanfare following a successful loan spell, he left for Northampton when triggering a release cause in his contract a month after relegation. Scored on his return to the Memorial Stadium on the opening day of the current season.

Kaid Mohamed – Signed on loan from Port Vale in January 2014 and stayed until the end of the season. Scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Morecambe in Darrell Clarke's first game in charge. Joined Northampton Town on loan until the end of the following season. Currently playing for Eastleigh in the National League.

David Clarkson – Returned to Scotland after spending five years in Bristol split between City and Rovers. Will be remembered most fondly for scoring late winner against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park that looked as though it was going to be enough to secure Rovers' Football League status. Joined Dundee in the summer of 2014 before re-uniting with Mark McGhee at Motherwell 12 months later. Currently on loan at St Mirren.

Matt Harrold – Was being watched closely by John Crawley Town manager John Gregory for the majority of that season after impressing against them in an FA Cup second round tie for Rovers. Eventually joined Crawley at the end of June and faced off against Rovers for the first time since his departure when the two sides met earlier this season.

Chris Beardsley – Joined on loan from Preston North End in November and stayed until the end of the season. He re-united with former boss Graham Westley when signing for Stevenage in the summer following Rovers' relegation. Beardsley returned to Mansfield Town last summer and is expected to return to the Memorial Stadium as part of their squad on Saturday.

Fabian Broghammer – Came off the bench to replace Chris Beardsley on the day. Returned to Germany in the summer after relegation and is currently playing for regional league side SV Wiesbaden.

    Alefe Santos
    – Came off the bench to replace Seanan Clucas as time was running out. Came through the club's youth system

but was snapped up by Derby County for their development squad soon after relegation. He has since made one Capital One Cup appearance for Derby and spent a short time out on loan at Notts County.

    Life long vice presidents.

Another player on that day who will be making a return to the mem this Satruday is Colin Daniel. Also known as to the red side of Bristol 'Sir Colin Daniel'. He left Mansfield after scoring the goal that sent us down. He joined Port Vale but he is now back with Mansfield again.

Can you believe that some on Gas Guzzler want to give him a 'hero's welcome'?? I havent bothered reading the comments on that thread but here it is... http://www.gasheads.org/thread/4737/colin-daniel

Dont see him as meriting any special kind of welcome - dont bear him any ill-will, he was just doing what he was paid to do and it certainly wasn't his or Mansfield's fault that we exited the football league. To be honest, the damage had been done for months. Dont like to dwell on that horrible day anyway, it happened, we dealt with it, we're back now wiser and stronger for the experience and for us, its onwards and upwards. Hero's welcome? - Crackpot idea!!!

It was a bad day. To me it is all a bit of a blur. But it unquestionably helped the club in the long run.
