http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_Green Player manager of Whitehaven. I thought he was excellent and I was a bit gutted when he went to Palace with PT, it makes me smile to think we had him at his best.
Taylor only took him to Palace because he was engaged to his daughter (or something like that) but he never really fulfilled his promise. We had some great performances from him though and he was an integral part of our climb up the Leagues
When he followed Taylor to Palace because of him going out with Taylor's daughter, I was more suprised he was interested in birds, to be honest. He made some dodgy decisions to leave us twice, and ballsed up his career. Good job he didn't turn up to Dawson's testimonial.
Precisely, it's not really remembered and we were low-key at the time but if someone did that now the fans would go mental. Lets not forget he: refused to train Went up to Carlisle without permission Said he never wanted to play for us again Refused to come back and put us in a position where we had little option but to let Carlisle sign him on loan against our wishes Next thing you know he realises how ****e they are and comes back cap in hand begging to return. In a game he was dropped for in the Championship I also, with my own eyes, saw him celebrate a Derby goal from his seat on the bench by punching the air before his team mates had a go at him. And people say Odemwingie was a cock.
Ive just checked and I know exactly which game it was - Derby at home under Phil Parkinson early season 2006. We lost 1-2 and Stuart Green was sold to Palace 2 weeks later. Draw your own conclusions.
Taylor only took him to Palace, because he didn't want his daughter going to Blackpool, when they came in for Green. Taylor is allegedly quoted as saying he didn't want his daughter in a ****hole like Blackpool. So he took her to Croydon instead!!
Let's not forget that the manner of his return from Carlisle was to basically do exactly the same to them as he'd done to us whilst at the same time saying he'd learnt from the mistake of acting like that and wouldn't do it again.
He didn't actually run, he sort of hovered while using his arms as wings. I met him a few times, he was a right mardy twat.
Yeah he really was. I dont exagerate when I say the squad at the time were really close knit and one thing that brought them closer together was a mutual dislike for Green.
