Gone are the good old days of the Football Combination and the reserves side. Instead we have an under 21 team who plays in the Professional Development League 2 Southern Section. A quick look at this shows that the U21 is as far detached from the bottom of league as the first team are clear at the top. This to me indicates that the much vaunted Academy is not working well as we appear to have very little talent coming through. Does any body watch these kids and can report what is going. Are we in as bad a shape as the league indicates
So where are the products of the last 3 or 4 years worth of work? I find it very difficult to get any info about the bits of the club other than the first team
Had a friend who trialed for a few clubs and said that the players deliberately gave hard to control balls from short range to show the trialists up. Cocky kids desperate to thrive in a competitive environment?
