First let me say I obviously know Wilshere, Gibbs and Szczesny came from the youth set up. But with experienced back up players failing to provide any quality when called upon (Arshavin, Santos) you wonder why there aren't any youth players promoted to fill in as surely they can't be any worse. I think Esifield and Gnarby have a promising future so why not give them 5-10 mins? Jernade Meade would unquestionably had a better game comi on or Gibbs yesterday than the unfit and clumsy Santos What about a youth striker you can stick on for a few minutes for a midfielder when you're pushing for the win After all EVERY team has a youth academy so it's less to do with money and even Man Utd, Chelsea & Co. have given their youth team players a run out At the end of the day they really cant be any worse!!
