One thought that has struck me is that in all the time I have been posting on 606 and on here I don't think I've ever spoken to a woman! Apart from that is the old women budgies that frequent our board! Now in the spirit of equality and all that I would like to throw open the doors of this male dominated bastion to any curious tractor girls who would like to join our band of merry men for some good old fashioned football banter and budgie bashing! What do you think my fellow Ipswichers? Should we allow women folk to share their views!
I know I know! but we have to satisfy the politically correct gender equality police that we are on message and taking women's views seriously! I mean to say they don't know one end of a football from the other BUT that shouldn't stop them posting their opinions!
But we could have already been infiltrated JWM, some of the names on here are ambiguous in terms of male/female connection. You could have been talking to a lady / ladette and not know it!! (and not pointing fingers JWM, but I had an aunt with a moustache not disimilar to John Wark's - I wonder?)
Well JWM I have noticed that, but this thread both asks and answers the question. Any self-respecting female would perhaps scan the articles, realise that the board is populated with pigs and move along. Just for the record I think it'd be great to have some tractorgirls to share their views. Female Ipswich Town supporters are another breed from the average lady up and down the country who watches football grudgingly or is only interested in the fit men. Ipswich ladies are absolutely our equals and it's something i've always been proud of - the whole town, mothers, sisters, aunts and grandmas all get stuck in when it comes to Ipswich Town. I will quite often go to a game with my mum, and trust me she knows more about the game than I do because she's got another 25 years of following the blues on me! I know it's similar in Norwich, although the women are not of the calibre of our own of course. But the only other place I've experienced the same level of genuine female participation is Glasgow. Manchester, Liverpool and Geordie girls do get involved but on the whole it seems to me to be the bimbo-ish breed of involvement that JWM is referring to.
In seriousness it would be good to have some women regularly posting on here! Why not? There are a huge number that go home and away to support the Town and it would be interesting to get their opinions after they have hoovered up ancd cooked the dinner! Are there any Tractor Girls onboard?
I hope you know what your doing JWM, The last thing we need is the board being clogged up with threads asking which town player has the best legs or nicest ass! If they have so much time on their hands i'm sure i could find them some dusting to do in 'Guru Towers'
