Less than two weeks to go and no really big moves yet? Is this the recession biting football as well or will we see a last minute avalanche of deals? As far as saints go I think I'd be happy if we brought just one more player (striker?) in but if Nigel thinks we have enough that will be good enough for me!.
Yeh a striker to go along with Lee and Falque and i'll be happy! would be a bonus if we got another CB though!
The January window is always more quiet than in the summer for obvious reasons (clubs reluctant to sell due to promotion push or relegation battle) but of course the recession is going to impact on business, whether it is now or in the summer.
The big deals always happen towards the end of the window. I don't think it will be as big as last year, but I definately think there are still some big deals to come. 12 days to go after all.
TBH - I think that deal has gone away - when Hooper was silent over the two bids made, I thought perhaps his silence was confirmation of his interest in the move. His most recent comments however suggest otherwise. Not sure we need another striker now we have Lee; although Martin is doing really well at the moment; would like to see another central defender as cover.
Don't agree, he has no real Celtic roots... Hoopers an essex boy. If we are thinking about substantially increasing his wages whilst also giving him a chance to join a team on the up, play back under Nigel and maybe play premiership next season I don't think he can turn it down. Celtic have got to be seen to get the best deal, they do need the money there are not many wealthy teams Scotland and trebling the fee they paid in a year is fantastic! I think he has been told you will get your chance to move just make the right noises, we will get our price and you will get your chance.
I'm not sure about hooper tbh, I think we will maybe get another striker, maybe. And as others have suggested wouldn't be surprised to see a cb come in on loan off of a prem team where he is out of favour, or something like that?! Anyone know how long until we see seabourne again?
Why should their be big deals anyway..? Besides, don't they always happen just as the bloody window is about to close..?
