Me too ... end of school disco when I was 11 ... people had started wearing flares and I didn't have any so refused to go to the disco ... my old girl (bless her) jumped in the car and drove to a shop in Wigston and bought me a pair ... went to the disco and had my first proper cop off with Consuela Ponte (she was exotic)
I actually remember wearing flares with a large 6 buttoned waiste band....... All the girls loved David Cassidy.
When I started going out it was all black dress pants and shirts. Jeans were work pants. We were much smarter than these days.
80's football casuals gear. Fila, Lacoste, Ellesse, Sergio Tacchini, Pringle tops, jumpers and T's. Diadora Borg Elite or Adidas Forest Hills on me feet. Happy, happy days.
High waister bags, capped sleeve T Shirts. Under 16’s night, Sunday, Mecca Ballroom, Southampton pier. Shoes a problem because you couldn’t dance in 4” wedges, and if you wore loafers you’d be treading on the hems of your Oxford Bags.
I remember the ordinary shoes for me all had stack soles and heels. But like clogs, yeah. Ben Sherman you mean? Most shirts had those enormous tucking collars.
