Nothing to loose now, we,re technically out of the group. Let him have this campaign and if he cant turn things around he,ll never manage a team again.
As for the other two, well can anyone help me as to how they are in the management team? I,ll possibly contradict myself by saying that Hartson speaks Welsh and this could possibly be seen as a good PR move? Who bloody knows? I would however like to suggest that Coleman does not reflect on GS death as a motivating factor for qualification, Its good to remember a person, but sometimes you need to become your own person and move on?

Haven't followed the national game since the Sparky era (probably makes me a plastic Wales fan) simply because it is one directionless miss-managed borefest run by an antiquated football organisation who employ uninspiring managers. Speed being the only exception. All three of the above heads should role but so too should those who employed them in the first place. A new set up should start by addressing grass roots football in Wales as a mater of urgency.

    jobs for the boys, simple.

neither are probably good enough, however at the time of speculation for who was going to replace speed i remember hartson on the radio actually believing he had a realistic chance of getting the managerial role <doh> .

coleman was the best welshman available at the time, only other one i can think of would be dean saunders but he's got to prove he's good enough.

if coleman goes then we'll have to go non - welsh, and with the pathetic basic salary on offer i cant see anyone of any pedigree touching us with a bargepole, most likely an inexperienced coach or more mediocrity. ireland only have trappatoni because they have a patriotic irish businessman paying half his salary.

but as i said on another thread, i blame the players for that 'showing', not the manager.

I would give him the next 2 games, if no turnaround then bye bye Chris. In any event that could just be a stay of execution.

However, Swamp is right when asking where is there another Welshman? I guess Deano would have a more positive effect on the players but his overall management skills have yet to be proven. No way would Pulis leave Stoke for this job in the next few years and, would we want him taking into account his preferred style of football? I suppose if the style developed a winning team we wouldn't be too bothered.

Beyond those 2 I'm struggling and anyone who suggests Toshack gets another chance can foxtrot oscar!!!

The people that appointed coleman should either pay for verheijen to return or step down and let some younger (more modern) people take their place. What a waste of a tournament! All we can do now is go for third and hope for a better draw next time. It's depressing watching the national team. I can see a lot of players getting 'injured' to avoid playing for such a shambles. Shocking!

Good question DJR. I'm sure he would fit us in around his Bournemouth commitments. Perhaps he could help us on a voluntary basis as well. That would please the blazers.

Seriously though, he has stated his aim was to get back working with players at the highest level (Bournemouth for free aside). Doesn't look like we have enough of those to qualify.

By the way, my brother in law played golf with Harry and Graeme Souness last week - true. Nothing like a bit of name dropping eh???

The only positive I can see from the whole mess is that if we keep going backwards at the same rate we'll qualify for the '58 WC again. :)

I'm not a supporter of Coleman, far from it. All the players need to have a good look at themselves. They were a total disgrace and should pay for all the supporters expenses who travelled for the match.

Coleman must be forced to stay and sort out his mess, Hartson and Symons moved on, Verheijen brought back.

The suits in charge at the FAW should be held to account for decades of neglect. Their postal addresses, email addresses and mobile numbers etc should be made public so we suffering supporters can let them know personally what we think of THEIR consistently poor and embarrassing performances. They've steered Welsh football into oblivion.

agree to an extent stumpy.. i think coleman could still do a decent job, but hartson and symons are mediocrity personified. verheijen wont come back because he has burnt his bridges here which is a big shame.

they appointed a top class manager in hughes and then a dud in tosh, then a top class one in speed, and potentially another dud in coleman. therefore we can look forwards to the next manager being a good one.. ;)
