Fantastic achievement, but in the PL, we will be doing well to get anywhere near half the team of academy graduates. Bringing lads through is Nicola's plan, but few top sides get more than a few players through (especially if they are nabbed by Arsenal). I suppose ManU's golden generation was the best with Becks, Scholes, Nevilles etc.
Truly cannot ever see it happening. Even Barcelona cannot brag that they have accomplished that. Nice dream though would be brilliant if you could. You may be able to at a lower level of football but at premier.....just cannot see it happening. Always happy though to be proved wrong on this.
This is even beyond Nicola's ambition, although I bet, having seen this news, he will be resetting the bar for Saints. I must admit I like the sound of Matt Tootle at left back.
It depends. I reckon we could field a team that would at least give a League 1 side a decent game. Apart from Shaw we are struggling in defence and in goal though. Like us, Crewe have lost products to better teams over the years, which is what makes this even more impressive. But a 100% academy team was never part of the plan, he would never turn down good talent from outside.
