I read a huge amount of criticism and whinging on forums about our team: why have we lost this game? Why won't we sign more players? This or that player won't cut it in the championship! It worries me about when a small group of neg-heads will start judging the team this coming season. If we get off to a slowish start I can envisage disgruntled voices calling for Nigel to go, or for Nicola to panic buy and spend millions. It does my head in. We nearly didn't have a club to support two years ago and now after a season with a winning trip to wembley and the following one a promotion, I feel that some of us will be demanding change if the season starts slowly. I for one won't be panicking and calling for heads, or making judgements unless we are rock bottom and adrift at Christmas. When will you be judging the team?
I agree with you here and cannot stand it, we have nothing to worry about and I sometimes think people forget where we were this time 2 years ago. In the liebherr's, nige, the players and Nicola I completely trust.
Possibly right Conman. I'd only be worried then if we were along way adrift. If we are to become really great again, we do need stability at the top.
I won't call for Nigel or Nicola's head even if we get off to a bad start,why?Because 1st Nicola Cortese and Nigel Adkins are the two best things to happen to saints for years and these two men will carry us(the club) up to the premiership and beyond.2nd-Adkins is one of our best ever managers.3rd-He is amazing.
Please tell me you're joking Maybe after a few years, we could say that if he's got us at the top of the Championship/into the Prem.
We have had 2 good seasons and we all hope for more of the same, but the Championship is a tougher test. Personally, I think we'll do OK. Every team has fans that expect perfection with no slip-ups. It's in their genes and they are never happier than when they are moaning. It's in my genes to rarely criticise but always hope for the best. You'll know the team are doing badly when I go very quiet, so hopefully I'll be chatting all season

Here are some facts:- 73.62% of statistical facts are made up on the spur of the moment and I should know. Football fans are for ever fickle. Nigel has the potential to be a really great manager. Saints will take 6 points off Pompey this season and never have to play them again. The natural order of things on the south coast will be restored this season. and finally People who say bollocks get on my tits.
Some on here seriously need to take a chill pill!! Saint's did not win one game in a pre season friendly, and you are talking about judging a team and it's manager!! Come on guys for goodness sake! The season starts August the 6th that is the time to start to think whether people are up to this league. They will stick out like a sore thumb!!!!!
Look around at all the pre season fixtures and you will see many results like ours and worse. Fact is it is non competitive and managers rotate and experiment. It is no reflection at all just a slight guidline at best We shouldnt panic god damn it. Loving the lates NA interview - hinting at a few players????? COYRs!!!
We played quite well against FC Gallen, it's only our second pre season match and I think we can let the players off for not being 100% sharp. The Swiss games were only designed to increase fitness as all pre season matches are, it wasn't like we went there to set the world on fire! People should chill out, we will make all the signings we need, the players will be ready and Adkins will have the team well up for the opening match, so just relax!
