Quiet across the boards today so I trawled back to the oldest posts from the General Chat forum to see what age was on not606, from what I've read I believe a lot of you jumped over from a different system (or the predecessor of not606) around January 2010 (long before the BBC 606 shut down and those users, incl. me, joined up) .. was it a totally new forum then or a rehash of an older version that you just stayed on? Looked like all the same folk who pretty much drive the conversation today, and similar topics as well (****ing, farting, abusing 'outsiders', receptionists with big tits, mingers from Leeds etc etc and that was just one page!) so comendable that you're consistent Just wondered, Mick aside, who are the oldest not606'ers (or previous incarnation of the forum) Appreciate this is a bit gay, but I've seen ****ier topics today .. and figured I could get away with the nostalgia aspect
This site used to be called SPN. Then there was a bit of a barney and some split off to form another site. Mick scrapped SPN and it was reborn as not606 in January 2010. The oldest members are the ones who's join date is Jan 2010. The bust up involved rocket, the snooker player John Higgins and a few sensitive souls.
I'm sure you've probably recited many times, but what actually happened .. how messed up does an online chat have to get for the forum to be scrapped and people (incl. Higgins - really him?) to have a right old ding dong?
This place and SPN before it was basically about 30-50 of us talking the same ****e about rape, Edmonds, moths, JW Heron's poetry and Popes many incarnations.
I think the curry night was the beginning of the end for spn. Too many fat bloaters with similar egos. Im glad i said no.
Nobody really knows what actually happened. But shortly after none of those that attended that fateful night every talked to each other ever again. It's a mystery.
Don't we ****ing know it. Who the **** would want to go for a curry with Rocket and Pope?!? Rolf ****ing Harris and an Ugg Boot, wearing, feature wall building, car salesman.
Aye they were tawdry lookin bunch. The photies were hilarious. Mennie looked like he should have been wearin a bib and needed spoon fed.
