with our fellow strugglers playing the following games it is imperative town gain 3 points on saturday

    carlisle v orient
    crawley v walsall
    pompey v donny
    cherries v oldham
    h/pool v coventry
    scunny v notts county
    colch. v bury

with gd of -9 carlisle,-7 orient, -8 walsall, -12 scunny, -9 bury and -16 harlepool, i realised shrews -6 may be in a false position, then aj awoke.

but our -6 may stand us in good stead if we can beat crewe and some of the above lose. coventry in particular as they are -6 as well.

now what can we put in the water in the visitors dressing room? ah yes some of rowlands lithuanian sparling port, and dishes of pork scratchings and iffy prawns. er floreat salopia, and let us hope we get some change out of crewe. (there is a pun there somewhere)

Marv is the only realistic choice as we have carelessly let Gornell go. Despite not scoring he would have been the ideal partner for Rodgers.

We are not overburdened with great strikers and Marvin has at least scored six goals so he has to be the choice - could it be the start of a new Little and Large (such as Keegan and Toshack) partnership? It sound as if Rodgers at least livened things up a little bit at Orient and , if only our centre backs can do their job, surely we can cause Crewe a few problems. There are lots of rumours flying around about Taylor leaving in January - I hope these are not true as he is just beginning to get back to something like his old form.

So Sharps and SCS leaving together with others too numerous to mention.....surely Taylor has to be worth keeping 'til end of season.....for all sorts of reasons. "If you are good, wages and stability will come" might be a phrase worth using.....as on too many occasions it clearly hasn't. Wasn't it always called 'spoiling the ship for a ha'pth'of tar'; some sort of cheapskate metaphor!
Of all the (good, sic!) players who have left in the last five or six years (excluding the young goalie to Everton 'cos he never made first team) only Hart and Holt have REALLY bettered themselves.

He set up the first goal for Rochdale on Saturday. On our staff he was the only one capable of holding the ball up and that is why he ended the season partnering Collins. Because of this Gornell was the most likely foil for Rodgers.

Dave Edwards, Tierney, Ben Davis, Hibbert, Langmead, Marc Pugh, Chris Humphey all went on to better things and admittedly some it didn't work out for.

Matster, that's not a very distinguished list! But read on........

Scotland doesn't count (we could still be top of their Division 1 even with our team! and have bigger crowds!!), I won't go through them individually but none of them has set the world on fire at their new clubs. However, my point is that many of them would probably have been better served to stay in Shropshire for a little more money and certainly more adulation AND we would have had a better team.

I'd love Tierney back at the club, never appreciated his hoofs down the line but the rest that he offered was great.

Would be great to have a season going to the lesser clubs in Scotland for away games if they paid my expenses and flew me about <laugh>

Always liked most on the list.

Appreciated Tierney and he proves my point.......was great when he first moved but then slowly drifted out of fashion. Same with Davies......he's now peripheral. Hibbert had injury issues.

Anyway, let's keep the faith and hope there is a change of vision.....we need vision.
