That video strikes up a intriguing question...

Who did more damage to Manchester, Rangers or the IRA?

I think it cost about 500m after the RA bomb. Probably cost a bit for the UEFA clean up but we did put about £20m into the city and surrounding areas.

so what you are saying is that the Irish are a drain on the economy
yet the scots are a source of investment

and this is why scotland cannot be independent and why the english helped alex sammon (sp) win

No I'm saying the ra detonated a bomb that cost about £500m to rebuild Manchester. The clearup for the UEFA cup probably cost a mill or so, but we did put about £20m.

The shops were running out of booze and people were turning up in transits selling it right out the back.<laugh>

It surely was, apart from it taking me about 2 hours to get from Liverpool airport to Manchester in a bastard taxi.

It was a fantastic day. I couldn't believe my eyes when we got the train in. A sea of blue, flute bands marching through the streets, tourists unaware of what was going on snapping pictures of everyone and everything.

I had to get a taxi back to Blackpool. Think it was about £80, but got a couple from Falkirk to share with me. Got an islamic dude called flash who kept us amused all the way back.

We left Picadilly gardens, then the riot police turned up and we dandered round to cathedral square or somewhere like that to watch the rest of it.

My mate got off his nut on Ketamin, pulled a bird and went back to hers for a ride. I spoke to him about 3am when I got back from Blackpool and he was oblivious to the rioting and even the score.<laugh>

Plus he had to get a taxi on his own back to Blackpool to catch our flight
