We had played a couple more games than others, but we were in 10th position on 48 points. But we had 14 games to turn things round. Now that half of those remaining games have been played, we are still in 10th. We have 57 points. But all teams around us have played the same number of games, and we are now 5 points off the playoff positions, and with a worse goal difference than every other team above us. Is it rational to cling onto the false hope that we could get anywhere near the playoffs? I don't think so, despite the fact it is still mathematically possible. But it's not maths that gets you promoted, it's playing good winning football, and we have not seen any of that this season to suggest these players or manager are able to deliver inthe last 7 games.
Can't see us getting into the playoffs at all. As we know we have got 3 extremely tough away games with teams that are all playing for something and 2 of them in direct competition with ourselves. What i am more interested in is seeing how we cope in home games where we will be favourites against Watford, Derby and Posh. Would be nice to show some consistency and get some confidence back at Elland Road.
Not been any games.?.played very well Boro,Millwall,WHU,and Saints. If we had performed this well all season we would be up by now.
Well said. Probably not even relevant whether we make playoffs or not. This team isn't good enough to win them let alone survive with the big boys. Make no mistake though, well be ready next year
I'm a season ticket holder cheshire. You have picked 4 games. Out of 40! That's 10 per cent. And you think that is something to praise? Even if it was 50%, all that would show would be a lack of consistency. Such a low percentage of good games only shows that we are consistently a very bad team, that once in a blue moon is up for it. Not good enough, and why you would prefer to come up with a spurious argument instead of seeing what is direcvtly in front of your eyes is beyond me. I don't see a rational argument from you.
9 league defeats at home sums our season up. The first game at Southampton was bad enough. I can't see a cracker of improvement since then.
