Cheery huh? And filched from Hornby's 'Fever Pitch.' But relevant to me as I've finished writing the eulogy for my Mum - who was so pleased when Wigan stayed up. Whilst it's quiet any thoughts? And how much would football be on your mind, Really?
Its would be on the forefront of ones mind. Guaranteed. Sounds weird that it could be but it might be the only thing that would keep your mind off your impending demise. Even if only for a half hour each day and two hours on a Saturday. If it fills a large gap in your life when healthy, it might become even more important when you're infirm and on your way out. Best time to die would be anytime during the League season. Not close season.
Truly sorry for your loss Pete. I'd love to see the Hoops "do something" before I go. It'd be great to see this often ramshackle club of ours - tiny in others eyes - make a splash in the larger scheme of things. So no particular time of year for me, just a particular point in the history of the club. If I were a Spurs or Liverpool fan I'd probably choose early spring, just before the perennial crash 'n' burn.
Condolences to you and your family Pete. As to the original question, Febrary. As its probably the most rubbish month of the year.
can't answer that personally pete as my old man died last July and when the season did start we got spanked 4-0 by Bolton! regards again.
Both my parents passed away in recent years so I can greatly sympathise with you Pete. Your mum must've been really chuffed at Wigan's finish this season. For me, I could think of no better time to go than at the 90 minute mark at Man City, I was in heaven already at that stage...
This! Although I would prefer to beat Chelsea. Sorry for your loss, Pete - football is insignificant when this happens.
