When is it "understandable" to riot?

    Yes it's the hottest topic at the minute and all over the news.

    Most people are disgusted at the actions of these thugs.

    Some on the other hand seem to be sticking up for them.

    On the topic of rioting recently, a poster on here said that it was "understandable" to riot with the police at times.

    Can I ask when do YOU believe it is acceptable or understandable to smash up your own area and throw bricks, bottles and petrol bombs at the police.

    Its the looting & burning down of small local businesses people can't stand.

    What percentage actually likes the police? Apart from when they were wading in to the students & the tree huggers in May?

    If it's for a real political cause, or if you're being opressed i.e. Egypt, Lybia etc.

    I see most people agree that this is understandable when you are on your last legs or have no food to survive.

    Basically a last resort cry for help.
