Our first team squad is well balanced with experience and youth. We have some good game changers now in Johnson, Sessegnon and McClean and pacey counter attacking football. Maybe we could have added another goalscorer to allow either Wickham, Ji, Noble or Campbell to go out on loan. However, maybe MoN has plans to use them all and let them grow under his wing.

    Here is our squad:

    Goalkeepers

    Mignolet
    Westwood
    Pickford

    Defenders

    O'Shea
    Brown *
    Cuellar
    Killgallon *
    Bramble
    Rose
    Bardsley *
    Adams
    Egan

    Midfielders

    Gardener
    Vaughan *
    Johnson
    Cattermole
    Colback
    Meyler
    Larsson
    McClean
    Sessegnon

    Forwards

    Fletcher
    Wickham
    Campbell
    Ji
    Saha
    Noble

    * injured

It's the balance that has got me feeling good about this season mate, in previous seasons we had the balance of a bike with a buckled wheel. Youth and experience plus playing players where they should be played most of the time is what will give us an edge over last seasons performances so top 10 should be achievable.
Some of the squad need to just go for me though, Bramble for a kick off a good player when his mind is on the game but, that is rare now so of no use to us at all.
Surprised none of the young strikers went out on loan but, again it could be that MON sees enough in training to give them a full season with us. With Fletcher as main striker (jury still out on him by the way) it'll mean the rest having to play really well to get in alongside him or even replace him.
As you say keeping the lads fit is the main problem we have especially at the back with 2 or 3 injury prone (ish in Cuellars case) defenders who are first choice. This is where we are weak now in my opinion and stand by my idea of getting shot of either Brown or O'Shea and bringing in another CB, we are not strong enough squad wise to accomodate two sick notes one maybe but not two.
Happy with the majority of signings and just glad the Jenas thing was a smoke screen happy days at SAFC, lets see a good display today and with a little luck get a point from Swansea who are very good at home and very confident after back to back wins and no goals conceded.
