All the talk of the spuds signing this that and the other has peed me off big-time I know we are not where we belong but we are Liverpool a team that prides itself on having the the best supporters in the world so how about we all get behind Brendan and the team and hammer United
" when did we let spurs be our main rival" When we finished 7/8th and we had to battle it out with them for Europe.
Is this a serious thread? , Spurs became our rivals the moment we slid out of the top 4 and in to the almighty scrap for CL. I see our games against Spuds and Arsenal as more important than United. But that's not to say they are as satisfying, nothing will ever be more satisfying than beating United (bar trophy finals...) Fact is though United will be a good 15/20 points ahead of us this season and can't be considered rivals in the league. Historic rivalry is different.
Win, win, win, win, and so on. Then who our rivals are is irrelevant. Only time Spurs are our rivals are the two times we play them a year. After that we can't effect their games and they can't effect ours...
I don't believe that. For me, every team in the league is my rival. Some rivals have more significance than others (Bitters, Mancs and Chelsea) but the rest are all the same to me. In fact, it's only of recent years that they have even figured in my analysis. Well how can you truly treat a club as a long tern rival when it took them over 72 years to win a match at Anfield? So no they are not a main rival and it will be fun seeing how they play snap with their squad this season.
When did we let Spurs become our main rivals? When Madrid paid well over the odds and allowed Spurs to buy a whole new team. Madrid have been mugged off big time, and Spurs are the lucky one's that have benefited from the Spanish twats. P.S. They're not our main rivals anyway, Utd are and always will be. The two most successful teams in the history of the English league = main rivals.
Same thing happened with you and Torres, but in your case you spent the money poorly. From what I can see spuds have spent it well
They have spent wisely, they also had nearly double than we had plus ours was ****ed up due to deadline day. Massive **** up by our club admittedly though. Any news on Wenger's spending yet?
To be fair, although AC and SD were total flops, we did sign Suarez in that same window, so we will actually come out of it better off.
Only time willtell if they have bought wisely. However they have created a problem for themselves as to how they are going to integrate all the newcomers into any form of a side.
