While idling away on my garden furniture reading the latest Chelsea mag I thought I'd try and identify what part of the game we banged in our most goals and when we were our least effective. Breaking it down into 9x10 minute slots plus 90+mins we got this spread of our 145 goals last season:- 0-9...... 9 goals 10-19...14 goals 20-29... 6 goals 30-39....17 goals. 40-49.....19 goals 50-59.....22 goals 60-69.....17 goals 70-79.....15 goals 80-89.....15 goals 90+........11 goals.. How come we banged in nearly 4 times as many goals in the 50th to 59th minute as we in the 20th to 29th? In the few added minutes of extra time we scored more as well! Otherwise consistency seems to be there for the rest!
Having the most in the period directly after halftime would suggest a tactical change/kick up the bumski from the manager had an effect.
Last season was a bit mad most of the season we couldnt play well consistently over 90 we either started well and drop off as the game went or we started poor and grew into the game very rarely did we play well for 90 minutes and it cost us so many points.
We've always been a second half team, for as long as I can remember anyway. Not a team that really comes out the blocks firing on all cylinders then fades late on I.e Everton/Spurs/Liverpool.
Lying back in the garden AND reading is called "multi tasking", something men are not supposed to be able to do. I am impressed. With years of practice, I have learned to operate the remote control AND drink beer at the same time !!!!! By comparison, my 3 year old granddaughter can put crayons on the wall, knock over a chair, eat yoghurt, kick a football, use the mobile phone, and watch Peppa Pig on an i Pad, all at the same time !!!!!!!!
CP---I'm nowhere near your grand-daughter in terms of multi-tasking, but, no word of a lie, I can read a paper AND handle a beer at the same time! I've never recieved a round of applause from the Mrs for it I regret to say, but I think she's prejudiced!
