If not for Bodde's misfortune , I"m not sure we'd have the player we have in Joe Allen .Valued at 15 million & a playing a huge part in promotion , Martinez threw him in the deep end back when Bodde , & others , were injured & Joe never looked back these past few seasons .
A sobering thought indeed - not that long ago seemed like nobody from within would surmount the Bodde-Britton-Pratley axis - let alone little Joey
Git! Aswan you still here? I've got to be honest I really liked the pratmeister, ( until he left chasing the buck ) Git!
And when Allen leaves we'll get another replacement. No doom and gloom like many think. The world doesn't end when a player leaves. We won't end up in the Conference when Allen goes. People, take a chill pill. I hope JackAsh has sent a stern warning for another Allen thread being started. LOL. Only kidding (I know how you lot take light-hearted remarks so seriously).
Who wants to be Welsh , I'm Irish !! ...Back then , Bodde gone for the season , Pratley's shoulder was a mess , Britton was playing games he shouldn't because of his back , couldn't use Gower , he played Sinclair's position ..... good ole Joe
Quite right CJ, if Bodde had not been injured the playing time others received as a result would not have happened to the same degree. Allen might not have matured as quickly. Bodde might have peaked at the Championship level as did Pratley and Allen would not have been as ready to take over.
There's a bigger than small chance that if Bodde didn't get injured , Allen might have slipped through the cracks & could have been playing elsewhere now .
