I want to get through the round, and i want to see Marveaux and Ba justify my faith in them.

For the other CB, I honestly don't know who tbh. Who do we have available? I just wouldn't risk Stevie Taylor.

I would choose to play Sammi Ameobi, but I think Ba needs more game time to get match fit.

Apparently we don't have many injuries except Ben Arfa, so:

Ba Best Loven (Best as a CF, Ba and Lovenkrands playing off him)

When I was putting this together I forgot Abeid, but my formation doesn't really suit his inclusion.

Maybe swap Colo for taylor and give them 45 mins each
Smith for Gosling/ Abeid?
I'd like to see if Obertan and Ba can kickstart their goal accounts as well. Give them both 90 mins

 

That is just horrible though. 4-3-3's dont work that way so Obertan and Marveaux would need to play as CMs and Simpson is not a centre back, and Perch is not a footballer.

Call me ambitious and not a particularly talented tactician but I've most certainly seen it done. Simpson played CB for us several times both in the Champ and last year, and I'm well aware that Perch is ****e but who exactly are we going to play in his place? Kadar's being frozen out and Ferguson's only just back from injury.
Besides, the real team will look nothing like that. The one thing that can be guaranteed from a Newcastle cup side is that only the manager knows what it'll be beforehand...

 

Why on earth would you play Guthrie on the right and Gosling in the middle? Swap em' round man!

 

It is very ambitious though, to say the least. I think even Scunthorpe would destroy that defence, and Ferguson is fit to play.

Correct though, no one knows what the cup team will be, almost certainly all wrong. Pardew said "3 or 4 changes".

Tiote in central defence? I'd be scared of him dribbling it out and getting caught!

 

I know but I just thought he would do a job there (hopefully) to rest Saylor and Colo. Also he needs match fitness but I want to try out the youngsters in midfield (+ Smith because Pards has said he is playing). That team should be good enough to win without worrying too much about defending.
