Given Man Utd's away form this season: WBA 1 Man Utd 2 Bolton 0 Man Utd 5 Stoke 1 Man Utd 1 Liverpool 1 Man Utd 1 Everton 0 Man Utd 1 ...what do you think the result will be on Saturday? I think we're now good enough to take a point. VOTE NOW!
On these polls, am I correct in saying that once you've voted yourself, you can't then see who else has voted for what? Isn't there something wrong there? (you could if you had a second account, though, lol)
I think we'll surprise the nation as long as they don't get an early goal. We're strongest in midfield, and in my lifetime this is the weakest Man Utd midfield I've seen. There's no "driving force" for me, hence Rooney playing there, but he's not a player who's naturally inclined to hold the shape and will end up playing as a deep striker half the time I think. Compare that with Swansea, where we're strongest, and I think it's a really, really intriguing prospect. The Swans need to believe they can win. If they do, it'll go a long way to securing a positive result.
We are very fluid and far more confident at home. It's going to be a thrilling match. United will come to win, which is going to suit us. The Liverpool result is the most telling of recent results for both teams; we both tied there. I think the presence of the Jack Army adding that one "additional player on the field" will tip it in our favor. I would look for a shutout at home to be a great positive and confidence builder - if we can do that and be creative / effective at the other end we can win ..... an obvious statement but maintaining our poise and image of a fortress at the Liberty is the key thing for me.
Man Utd will be favourites and rightly so. If both teams play to their full capabilities then they will beat us. They've got better players and there's no shame in admitting that. If Rooneys on top of his game he's unstoppable at times. However, the Swans are no ones fools and are growing with the season and are getting accustomed to the pace of this league. We were terrific at Anfield a fact which won't have gone unnoticed by a certain Mr Ferguson. Can we beat them ? Yes we can but will we beat them ? Unlikely to be honest. We've had a few home truths against Chelsea and Man City but I think we've learned from them and improved as a team. I'll be surprised if we concede 4 again against anyone this season. Heart says Swans 1-0 but head says Man Utd 2-0
I've let my heart rule my head on this one on the basis that we need as many positive vibes as possible. Of course Man Utd are favourites and rightly so. However, for some reason they don't seem to possess that "invincible" aura of previous seasons. Maybe I'm being influenced by the Citeh result; dangerous really because Sir A F will have climbed into them to make sure they are focused on future games. They have class all over the pitch and should be far too strong for us. BUT. There's always a "but" and this time I believe it is because the Swans will be oozing confidence after the Liverpool result and that Buck will get them up for this as never before - particularly in front of a world-wide TV audience. I think the lads will want to strut their stuff and providing everyone concentrates for the full 90 minutes PLUS (the PLUS is important - Swans tend to concede late goals and Utd score them) we just might have a sniff. Long shot but possible, so with my fingers crossed, clutching my lucky four leafed clover, I am going for Swans 1-0 via a Sinclair penalty.
Looks like I'm the only one to vote for a United win. Of course I hope I'm wrong but I just feel that this is going to be our first home loss.. but not by much.
If man utd turn up and take us serious then they will win fairly easy, If they play their 2nd or 3rd players then we may get a draw but i doubt it. they are to good with the best manager in the world.....1-4 away win but hope not.....
Well, I like the optimism so far - 5 Swansea wins & only 2 Man Utd wins. The postponed match was especially for Swimaway, who can't usually resist a silly option - come on, don't disappoint me
This is the first big test at home by one of the biggest. I really hope we can win, but I don`t think we will. As of now, I would be very happy with a draw, jeez I hope we don`t lose. We`re at home, on our own patch, with the army loud & proud. Let`s give it a go & we can win ! Stranger things have happened, go for it Swans?
We will probably get 60% possession, but will lose. Scotty is right about us controlling the midfield, but they will be way too strong for us on the attack. 0-2.
I have said for weeks that i feel we can.nick this one 2-1 and will stick to my guns our airfield could be the deciding factor i reckon with our movement, i reckon fergie will Defo start with park, who he always uses when they are playing a astute footballing team like ourselves hopefully they have flashbacks to last season at Wembley and curl up and cry ;-);-);-);-)
Head thinks Man U will be just too much of a test but the question is what does my gut think and my gut thinks Swans can grab all 3 points!!!
Genuinely think we will win this one, I was less optimistic about the Bolton game. aswan_dam, If you click on the number of votes any option has had (as long as it's more than 0) then it shows who's voted for what.
Sorry to upset you all but the ref on Saturday is none other than Mike Dean. Anyone want to change their prediction ?
