Can't seem to find much linking Adel to anyone but PSG. Nothing mentioned relating him to any other prem clubs. Is it possible that the only prem clubs that are interested are in his imagination? Bless him and hope he stays!
Reckon they're doing the right thing and holding out for silly money. (Wonder if they're realising the potential profits in spotting the right guy and investing while he's on the way up?)
I hoped signings of the likes of Jay Bothroyd would have encouraged him to say. Is Bullard if he comes supposed to replace him ?
IF (big if) he could stay fit, Bullard and Bothroyd would have the creativity and finish to compensate us for losing Taarabt...
I have faith in Bullard's ability but not his fitness to stay the course! Taarabt likely frustrated as rest of us with lack of spending, ambition of board. A couple more decent signings might make him reconsider. Who knows what goes on in that head of his???
I don't think the boards spending power, or lack of, has anything to do with adel wanting away. The lad made his mind up before the end of last season. Not starting in the showcase last game against Leeds said enough for me. He wants to join a bigger club and if that is the case then so be it. He was significant in the promotion last season and if we can make a few mill then great. Best bit of business we have done since buying Ferdinand all those years ago.
I just can't see a reason the board (apart from the money) would want to sell their star player. If they are just looking to stay up and sell on they must realise selling a player who was influential last season won't really improve our chances of staying up. Even if he is set on leaving why not just bump up his pay for one year and promise to sell next year if he's still not happy.
Adel will stay unless someone comes up with stupid money (Briatore wants £18m) for him. Reported interest from PSG at £13.5m wont get the kid. Surely signing someone like Bothroyd will give Tarbs a boost, shows ambition. ....Also, in no way is Bullard a replacement for Tarb. Bullard sits in front of the back 4 and sprays passes about (ala Faurlin), he doesn't really push that far forward from midfield (anymore)
Personally, I have doubted if he would really fit into our team in the Prem and have thought that for some time. There is no question about his ability, the reason I doubt is could he handle, because of tactics, that some matches he will be on the bench and may not even get a game????
