Why so lacklustre? Where's the effort from last year? Celtic, again, looked way of the pace and disintrested! Worrying times...not looking remotley likey that Celtic will stop 4 in a row! Only hope, is that Jelavic gets injured and that will be Rangers' two best players out! I wonder if it's all down to fans being negative on forums?
Two words: Neil Lennon. He's lost the dressing room. He's now blaming the players. These are the same players who ran themselves into the ground last season. Players like Kayal and Hooper were all over the pitch last season. Hooper (and even Stokes to a lesser extent) would chase down opposition defenders and Kayal would chase down everything. The defense, despite the criticism, didn't actually concede that many goals. Now look at these players. Hooper looks like he can't be bothered running the length of himself. Kayal is basically just doing enough. Commons doesn't even look like a footballer. The defense is a shambles. There's little drive, little determination and little in the way of fight. Yesterday was absolutely shocking. We needed to win that game yesterday yet it looked like we were playing for a draw. And now we have Lennon publicly criticising the players. When that starts happening you know it's the beginning of the end.
Agree - it's down to the manager to motivate his team - and this is his team. He's deflecting the critiscm onto the players! He's showing lack of man management skills !
Lack of an idea from the manager is also a problem, we've been lining up the same way for weeks and we always **** it it so what does Lennon do stick with it. Yesterday wasn't a draw that Hibs worked their socks off for it was us who didn't test them, they stuck to the basics and stayed disciplined and got a draw without looking under threat. I don't know where we go from here, another manager to come in get undermined by Lawwell and them lose interest isn't the answer and Lawwell won't employ anyone willing to stand up to him so don't expect anyone decent.
Yesterday was the final straw , the performance was gutless , how Lennon can say we were tired , when it was the same opposition we played midweek . To not even force one corner is a disgrace , the only thing that has cheered me up if Rangers form a new company they will be barred from Europe for three years according to the mail on Sunday
Injuries haven't helped but we should have a big enough and good enough squad to be a lot closer to Rangers than we are. Some of the players seem to have bad attitudes. And ultimately Lennon has to take overall responsibility for a team that's underperforming so routinely.
Who the **** knows? I'm of the opinion that no matter who your boss is, whether you're a footballer or a fisherman you should give 100%. These ****s are on thousands a week but cannae put in a shift for 90 mins. They can **** right off. Lennon is probably to blame somewhere along the line, but it's no excuse for doing a ****e job. Especially when it's a fairly easy job with a good pay packet.
Lennon was super last season and so was the players. It looks like Lennon is useless this season and so is the players. Lennon has tried everything at his disposal, except from only playing Wangama for about 3 games. Not playing Wangama is an admission that he himself Neil Lennon, should never have started a game. This player is probably the only player in the Celtic squad who can play as a defensive midfielder, not only protecting his back four but unlike Lennon this young player has an impressive range of passing. That is only part of the story, having tried everything else, really the only other thing is publicly berate the players, the last attempt to make right. Absolutely no need to criticise Board. Celtic took 7 points off Rangers last season Rangers won 4. Having won the SPL head to head last season, Celtic had enough Quality to win SPL but they drew 3 matches in a row and lost to inferior teams more often than Rangers. I know, its a bad sign of a team but Celtic without Scot Brown struggles and will continue. If he takes the laundered, stolen, EPL money we will even have bigger problems.
