. . . . . when Fryatt has the finish of a bog-eyed alcoholic with two left feet and no aggression in his feet? Should we get shot and bring someone who knows he will beat the keeper, because Fryatt sure don't! I have seen him waste too many chances now to think this is a phase he is going through. It is the other players making him look far better than he really is. This might not be a popular view, but can we afford to carry him, because I believe that is what we are doing. Perhaps NP will have him?
I thought Fryatt played well yesterday, worked hard all game, showed some good skill and could easily have scored a couple of times. He's also scored more goals this calender year than any other striker in the Championship. Did you actually mean to type Mclean, who had his worst game so far for us yesterday?
Have to agree up to a point--he needs too many touches, but he also chases everything and never gives up- he is our top scorer though and the team spirit is second to none or appears to be so why change a winning formula
I wouldn't describe McLean's game as bad, just "quiet". Don't think he's cut out to be on the wing tbh.
McLean looked tired yesterday more than anything else. I know he had a game off for his suspension but I wonder if he just needs resting.
His first touch was appalling and he gave the ball away almost every time he got it, he's had some decent games for us recently, but yesterday wasn't one of them, he had a complete mare.
Not just me. Yes you are entitled to your opinion but if you are going to talk bollocks then expect to be challenged on it, "crap", "Disaster" do not spring to mind when looking at Fryatt.
For me, Fryatt, Rosenior, Koren, Chester and Stewart are by far the most important players in our squad.
I think Hobbs is doing a decent job for us at the moment, but he's slow, he's not great with the ball at his feet and he offers no goal threat from set pieces, I think that affects how people view him. If we were to get promoted, I think he'd be out of his depth, but I don't think the others I mentioned would be, hence me not including him.
Chester dropped another absolute clanger early doors yesterday, one that would have been punished in the PL. I know I go on about it but for me Hobbs is as good as Chester. Over the last half a dozen games( of the ones I've seen) he's been the better player. Just my opinion on the subject. As for slating Fryatt? Have a word with your yourself.
Chester does seem to have lost a bit of form since Pearson buggered off, but he definitely looks a better all round player(if you ignore the past month, he looks a class apart).
I too thought Mclean had a poor game yesterday. The effort as usual was there but his touch was awful. As for Fryatt, he may not have scored yesterday but he looks a different player to the subdued one we saw in the latter part of Pearson's reign. One of the top scorers in the league, find it hard how PattyNchips can be so critical of him. The first team seems to pick itself at the moment, hard to pick fault with too many areas. Even Gulasci seems to be getting better by the game.
Fryatt is our best striker, he misses some chances but he gets in the position to score them, and like Olm said he has scored more goals in the Championship than any other striker this year hardly a bad striker.
Probably just a confidence thing, he's been getting targetted by the big men up front for the last 2 months or so which wasn't happening before so he's having to adapt to it. I was surprised Millwall didn't make more of an effort to do the same to be honest, but then they had a few midgets in the team themselves.
I have said it before on here but Hobbs seems to get played down to big up Chester. Im not going to slag off our players but Chester has been the worst of the back four since Pearson left. Teams are definitely targeting him with their big man going up against him and he isnt doing well. On Saturday Mckenna had to come over and stand in front of Henderson as Chester couldnt compete on his own. Someone else has said Mclean looked tired, my worry is the whole team being young may runout of steam soon. There was an instance in the first half were Corry Evans was bent double on the pitch trying to get his breath back. NB said he took him off against Cov with exhaustion.
i'd say who's pissed on your cornflakes but being a coincidence i'll ask... who's pissed on your patty and chips PattyNchips?
