hi lads, was thinking about one time at the match when my mates tooth fell out, and he fainted. This made me howl with laughter when he was been attended too by st johns ambulance.obviously it was only because it wasnt serious. (this was at roker park) so was thinking about what some of your most funny things you have seen while at a sunderland game.
You took the words right off my keyboard - Benno/Speedie was an absolute classic. Message to Bileofengland - I hated Speedie....................... Lol Bart
I was sat in the West Stand a few years ago with my brother, watching us play Everton. I leapt out of my seat when we scored and slipped a disc! I was in absolute agony and to cap it all, a steward came up to me a few minutes later and said "sit down" I said "I can't, I've done my back in". He said "well you'll have to leave or go and stand up the back at the rail. So off I went, up the stairs to the back, whilst listening to my brother behind me pissing himself laughing!!! He wasn't laughing when he had to sit in Sunderland General A&E with me at 2 in the morning!
Does anyone remember a night game in the mid-70's when an owl flew into the ground and perched on one of the high girders of the roof, just above a fairly full and noisy Fulwell crowd? It was quite bizarre!
Some big bugger threw a pie from the back of the seats, landed on my brothers (Jimmy) head, who's 6 foot 8....not a small lad my brother stood up, turned round and looked at the lad with death in his eyes... Pie thrower......."O sorry Jimmy, it was meant for our right back" Jimmy .............."A'rite mate, nee bother" Jimmy picked up the pie and ate it. Absolute classic KTF
I think it was the second season at the stadium we played chester in the league cup early stages i was in the concession corner then with the grandson when a chester supporter stood up and through a toilet roll towards the pitch however it did not even get have way, he was then escorted to the cells by two police and this was as the teams were warming up ( had not seen toilet roll thrown at a match since the late sixtys)
