Looks like we are going to struggle to get Samba from Blackburn (even though he has handed in a transfer request.) Their argument is the same one we put forward for Modric, he has recently signed a new long term deal and they don't want to release him. It would seem a bit wrong for us to apply pressure as Chelsea did to us (albeit through the Daily Fail,) but Cahill is gone and our CB shopping list looks a short one. I think we have enough to cope until the end of the season (just) but Samba should probably stay on our radar as he will not relish life in the Championship and I don't think the club will relish paying his wages there. Seems odd to be at the opposite end of the situation. I hope our club acts with more integrity than Chelsea did in the summer.
Sorted. For future reference, you can edit the title of your own articles by using the Go Advanced option, Chirpy. I don't think that the bold, italic or underline features work for thread titles, by the way. I think that any deal for Samba might depend upon Bassong leaving. Might be better to go after a slightly different target, like Onuoha.
He is also on 60k a week at Rovers reportedly, so he won't move for less, that puts him up with top earners here which I don't think he should be. 15m fee aswell because of recently signing a 4yr deal. Can't see those numbers getting a look from Levy, we don't need him that much do we.
