I don't believe this guy. He's been told to keep Wootton by Cellino, yet here he is at first opportunity blatantly excluding him from selection at CB. Now how do we think Wootton will feel about this? Absolute buffoonery. That's how you start losing the dressing room. It probably hasn't occurred to him that Wootton has friends in the team that will be affected by his nobbishness.

The defender's arrival on loan at Elland Road may have a negative impact on an existing Leeds star.

After the confirmation of Sol Bamba's Leeds Unitedloan move, Neil Redfearn told the club's official website that the 30-year-old's biggest gift to the Yorkshire side is added competition at the back.

“Sol being with us brings competition for the two centre-back places,” Redfearn said. “He now joins Liam Cooper, Jason Pearce, Giuseppe Bellusci and Dario Del Fabro in competing for those two spots."

Interestingly, the Leeds boss mentioned Pearce second. But there appeared to be no order to which the 49-year-old listed the names.

In the current pecking order, Bellusci and Cooper are Leeds' first choices. And, with Bamba now in the fold, that becomes even more blurred.

The 30-year-old wouldn't have been brought to Elland Road if he couldn't add to the first team and, unless anything goes horribly wrong, Bamba should see plenty of action in a Leeds shirt this season.

So where does that leave Pearce?

Named Leeds captain earlier this season, the 27-year-old is now far from first choice under Redfearn. There could, of course, be hope for him if Bellusci is given a long-term suspension for racial abuse. Even then, however, Cooper would be the first name in that defence - and Bamba could be the second.

Del Fabro, 19, will also be given due consideration, which might just mean Pearce is the Leeds star that suffers most upon Bamba's arrival.

Does Redders even know what he's doing, I have big doubts.

Redders has come up with that many lies and wishy washy comments/statements recently it's hard to believe anything he says, or does these days.

Wooten at RB or as prt of a 3 man CB partnership allows Byram more flexibility to get forward. Simples!!

Boggers, the whole point is that Wootton has been deliberately left out of the CB choices in Redders quote. So, if they're going with 3 at the back, I've got more chance of being picked than Wootton!

Yes, Wootton can fill in as a RB, but the key phrase is 'fill in'. He's not a natural RB, and it shows. He's too expensive as a misfit. 'Fill in' RBs with better skills can be found much more cheaply. He should either be allowed to go or played. Simples.

Why is everyone suprised. Until last week Wooton was Rotherham bound, then we had a defensive crisis due to warnock going so recalled him, and played him. If we get another defender. then he is not in the clubs plans again.

The most worrying thing is the none joined up thinking, we let warnock go and only then does someone? Cellino/Redfearn? Think omfg we don't have enough defenders and makes the bizarre decision that we needed Wooton in the team.

    good morning Neil
I think that the Bamba signing will mean the end of Pearce and Wootton and will give the club some cash to offset what they owe MN U
If as expected they sign this CM as well I expect Austin to be sold as well
Cani from the 5 minute tape seems to be able to head a ball so thats a big plus and has preditory skills more balanced than Matt Smith so lets hope he fits in
