Have heard varying amounts of what Barton is on a week.Anywhere between 50-80 000.If this is true anyone know what our new wage cap is?

    I think you've mis-spelt that hoopton...

    It's Celery. Lol

I think it's Mittals money and it's just small change to him.

Be interesting if other players like Adel,Paddy and Jay start asking for more though. There could be friction inside the dressing room.

I think they'll realise that Barton is a class above,
and has the right to be paid more.
Barton is a proven prem player.
No one else in our squad is.
    Next season however.................?

If they perform at this level they'll get improved deals, if they don't they'll be on their way. The limit has obviously gone now and players will be offered salaries competitive with mid-table teams which I guess is our target this season. Leaves you thinking there is a cash benefactor in the background (Mittal?).

Didn't Warnock say that he hoped that Joey wasn't expecting some of the numbers being touted in the newspapers?

I'm sure I read that one of the Malaysian investors was paying Barton's salary.

In one sense it is none of our business just like my salary is private. On the other hand, it would be nice to know we are not sliding into a financial black hole - seems unlikely under the current regime?

That was the whole point on my previous thread on this matter "Where is the money coming from?". No one seemed to be bothered then.

If the club is running up an even more enormous debt to pay for this I'd like to know. Obviously couldn't do anything about it, but I'd like to know.

Guys,i persume that the two twats did not take all the SKY money. If thats the case the 40 odd million or part there of should pay for several top players. If you work out the wages at even 50,000 a week then we should be able to afford at least 4-5 top players wages. Just a thought

Don't forget that we were losing money hand over first last season, and many, if not all, of the players will be on more money now we have been promoted.
